Tom Brady, roughly 800 years old, has elected to retire (again) after an underwhelming season that saw his Tampa Bay Buccaneers ousted in round one of the NFL playoffs by the Dallas Cowboys.

Brady (actually 45 years old) made the announcement early this morning in a video posted to Twitter that's since racked up over 56 million views.

There's no doubt that Brady had a legendary NFL career and will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he's eligible in 2028. He holds just about every major NFL quarterback record there is and is a seven-time Super Bowl champion. As such, many consider him football's GOAT and there were indeed tons of hagiographic tributes to Brady's career in the wake of his retirement announcement.

However, there is a sizable chunk of NFL fans who, not to mince words, hate his guts and made far funnier tweets, RIPBOZO's and memes about Brady's second retirement.

Toward the end of his career, Brady periodically irritated many football fans with myriad micro-scandals and odd behaviors. He seemed quietly supportive of Donald Trump according to some, promoted FTX ahead of its crash and had a curious and contentious habit of kissing his son on the lips.

His un-retirement ahead of the 2022 season seemed to facilitate his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bundchen, which made the failure of his 2022 season all the sweeter to his detractors.

Of course, none of the jokes and schadenfreude are likely to matter much to Brady, who's set to enter a 10-year broadcasting career with Fox Sports that will somehow net him more money than he earned in his playing career.
