The crypto art hype train marches on as artist Whynne, the creator of Trollface, has minted two NFTs for one of the most recognizable memes of all time and is currently auctioning them off on the digital art platform Foundation.

On Tuesday, artist Whynne tweeted that he was selling Trollface, arguably the most famous Rage Comic character, as an NFT.

In addition to the one-of-a-kind Trollface NFT, the highest bid for which currently stands at 5 ETH (approximately $7,500), Whynne is also selling an NFT for his original comic in which the character first appeared. The comic, which has a starting price of 3 ETH, has not received a bid yet.

Carlos "Whynne" Ramirez created the iconic meme on September 19th, 2008, when he posted a Rage Comic about trolling on his DeviantArt page.

Having reached peak popularity during the late 2000s to early 2010s era of Rage Comics, Trollface has recently been experiencing a revival after the Cover Yourself in Oil meme went viral last year.
