Metal Gear, by a landslide. Dogmeat is cool, but his usefulness extends to holding shit, and occasionally pulling an enemy down (a little more with some perks). You also just kinda fiind Dogmeat, and your guy just goes like “well, I guess you’re coming with me, because we can’t not have you.”

D-Dog has a sick ass eye patch, is customizable once you max his affection, and he marks all enemies, resources and emplacements for you. That’s not to mention his usefulness in combat, where he can distract, wound, or kill an enemy, depending on loadout. Also, You find D-Dog as a pup, you see him raised and trained, and you see him ultimately come into his own.

Also, this whole article is moot because D-Dog is a wolf.
