At worst, GG proving itself to be extremely whiny and toxic over nothing made people start being less warm to it. There are a lot of posts on the forums with peoplw who actually left GG because its nothing but "we are at war with SJWs", and a lot of reasonable people have been called SJWs too many times to have much sympathy for obnoxious users.
