I remember that in Silver I just couldn't understand tf was supposed to be that Unown Cave. I mean, sure, it had puzzles in it, they even expand them a little in Crystal too, but what was the point of releasing all the letter Unowns into the cave? literally nothing happened when you were done with it. I specifically remember that I thought that perhaps it had something to do with Ho-oh, that maybe he was supposed to appear there (as I had the Silver version, in an era without internet to check and figure out that it wasn't suppose to appear at all), but when I found out that it didn't I thought it was extremely weird. the fact that it simply appeared in the second tower was even more odd to me Now, with this Beta in our hand, I think I can figure out what's happening here- > so in the Pokemon lore the Unowns were probably real people (or pokemons).
