Jayla Foxx's Popeyes Video refers to an NSFW porn video starring female, ebony pornstar Jayla Foxx who cosplays as a Popeyes drive-thru employee and has sex inside the fast-food restaurant's kitchen. Since its release, it's generated memes and discussion across platforms (Twitter, TikTok, Instagram), many centering on the video's quality, Foxx's acting and how the video ruined Popeyes for some. Additionally, the screencap of Foxx in the drive-thru window became an IYKYK reference, making the image an exploitable in memes that tested the viewer's knowledge and innocence.
Origin
Jayla Foxx's Popeyes video was made sometime in early 2014 and uploaded to adult film sites like Pornhub, evident in tweets[1] about the video that surfaced on March 4th, 2014. Despite a few references to the video occurring on Twitter[2] in 2015, the first viral meme to reference the video was posted to Twitter on October 16th, 2016, by since-suspended Twitter user ErrBodyLuvsCris, who captioned a screencap of the video with, "Patiently waiting for the day I pull up to Popeye's and this happens." Multiple retweets[3][4] of the tweet are still accessible, however, on December 23rd, 2016, the Facebook[5] page NOT a rap shitposting page posted a screenshot of the tweet, gaining roughly 1,600 reactions in six years (shown below).

On June 10th, 2017, since-suspended Twitter user mufasagolive tweeted the screencap of Jayla Foxx, captioning it, "Best fast food employee☝🏾💯" (shown below, left), gaining an unknown amount of likes but many replies[7] that are still accessible. On March 13th, 2018, Twitter[6] user Keem_LaFlare tweeted a screencap from the video, captioning it, "My man work with shorty," in reference to a since-deleted tweet. Over the course of four years, the tweet received over 690 likes (shown below, right).
In 2019, the release of the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich flooded social media with discourse about its deliciousness, comparisons to rival Chick-fil-A and the chaos and fights that ensued outside of Popeyes restaurant's when a location ran out of sandwiches. Using the buzz from the sandwich's virality, Jayla Foxx's Popeyes video resurfaced on many online porn sites.
On August 19th, 2021, the Twitter[8] account hoodville_ tweeted, "OnlyFans models in October," in reference to the OnlyFans Adult Content Ban. The tweet received roughly 5,900 likes in one year (shown below).
The reference grew in notoriety going into the remainder of 2021 and into 2022, spreading to TikTok and elsewhere. For instance, on October 30th, 2021, TikToker[9] blackkimmyk posted a video that showcased her Jayla Foxx Halloween costume, gaining roughly 55,900 plays in one year (shown below). On January 28th, 2022, TikToker[10] qwaybvby posted a video that reiterated the sentiment from ErrBodyLuvsCris' original tweet,[5] gaining roughly 45,500 plays in nine months (since deleted).
