Piñera says he is a conservatve and even hails from a party of that name, but really, all the things he says and does are either centrist or left wing, for the most part. I cannot even find something online about him that resembles what people traditionally understand as right-wing. He just sells himself as such to quench some side effects of a perceived red scare some Chileans were left with after Pinochet tried to plant that narrative after Allende fucked with communism for a good while and capitalized on that for his 17 year takeover.
