Giving an excuse to this: Many Sonic fans complain that modern Sonic is too "totally radical", doing stuff that is hip, cool and trendy with the kids, but that's how he always was, since 1991 he was intended to be a rebel and edgy to contrast with Mario, he codified the concept of the mascot with attitude.

I honestly don't have an issue with them using it as much as I have an issue with them using it twice. Not because that's even worse, but because at that point, I'm expecting it a third time. I feel like a rule was broken.

That being said, out of all different versions of Sonic, this is the one that absolutely would. Little guy wants to integrate himself into a world he can't interact with anyone. He'd floss to make himself feel closer to the world, imitate what's going on now.
