The Japanese version; it's pretty common for Japanese games to have English-language text in certain areas, to the point where using Japanese text in those places is seen as jarring and unnatural. Indeed, if you look at the Japanese version of Melee, you'll see these exact icons and Romanized headers on the character selection screen.
