Ngl, I find American Dad superior to Family Guy. It's not exactly an high bar but the show manages to be more focused with its plot rather than filling it with gags and references which drags everything down.

And as I said several times it seriously feels they switched scripts at some point.
Family Guy got far more political and only 3 family members get any attention.
Then American Dad gives each member their time to shine for the most part.
