Reminder of how accurate this is: the first Mad Max movie was NOT post-nuclear war; it was post-societal collapse, presumably caused in significant part by capitalism getting out of hand.

Wasn't it resource shortages, namely Oil, that caused the societal collapse in Mad Max?

I mean, I'm pretty sure a country would encounter the same problems if they ran out of critical resources regardless of their economic system.
