I've said this so many times before but I'll say it again: English phonetics are complete bollocks to me.

And this is why we learn English with videogames since childhood, people. Not only does it not get tangled with other accents since it was all mostly written at the time, but you yourself will also never speak it, only write with it, since you have no actual English-speaking friends..!
