Many of the edits use a specific image of Billy Butcher smiling, eyes closed and head pointed to the blue sky. The original edit inspired further edits over the following weeks in mid-2026, including versions that replace Butcher with other characters and memes that compare images of animals doing similar poses to the image of Butcher.

On May 5th, 2026, TikToker^[1] @timandmichael4 posted an animation using edited The Boys comic scenes, heavily featuring Billy Butcher, set to "Charlie's Inferno" by That Handsome Devil, gaining over 3.4 million views in two weeks. This is the earliest known edit combining the song with The Boys imagery.

The frame of Butcher used in the meme comes from the final events of the comic book series, known as the "Superhuman Insurrection" or "Superhuman Meltdown." It appears to be edited similarly to the Invincible Wobble Edits using something like Alight Motion to animate the original still image.

The Excuse Me Sir edit inspired other animations and memes over the following weeks, including memes that compare other images to the image of Billy Butcher smiling and looking upward.

For example, on May 14th, 2026, TikToker^[2] @clipzzfordayzzz posted a photograph of a cat posing in a similar way to Billy Butcher, placing an image of Butcher's face next to the cat in a red circle, garnering over 307,000 views in six days.

On May 16th, TikToker^[3] @vassi.nezki posted a similar video where they compare their cat to the "Excuse Me Sir" panel of Billy Butcher, captioning the image, "Bro ain't doing nun but larping," garnering over 82,000 views in four days.
