I'm Mad! Here's a Solution - i hate nuclear

I'll believe it when Solar power doesn't need more silver and rare earths than is in the Earth's crust.

Meanwhile, advances in Thorium fission and water filtering mean that we can power the entire world on Fission until the sun goes red dwarf.

"the solution is to burn waste in faster reactors" well, yes, but on the other hand, even that would still leave SOME radioactive byproduct, would it not? and that's BEFORE you get into the logistics of it, such as SAFELY transporting used fuel from older reactors to the newer ones, staffing them VERY carefully to avoid any incidents like mr.ouchi, and of course, actually getting people to get over their (somewhat) unfounded fears of nuclear power to allow such reactors to be built in the first place. I think it would benefit us all, but I know there are multiple things causing us to not go that route, and some of which aren't all that illogical.
