I can't imagine they'd try to made Cruella de Vil a sympathetic character; she literally tried to skin puppies for financial gain and her name is a mix of the words "cruel" and "devil". She's the most obviously pure evil character I've ever seen. It's probably just a villain origin story.

And Maleficent seemed to be a perfectly benign fae sorceress to you?

Let's be real here, this will be another Disney movie that takes one of their classic Villainesses and tries to convince you that they did nothing wrong and it's all the patriarchy's fault.
