Almost as galling as how uncritically this is accepted as an axiom.

It's weird to me that sex-negative mindsets somehow invaded certain "progressive" movements. Sex positivity was a huge part of the progressive movements of the past, now you've just got a situation where you have puritans on both sides of the political spectrum.
