Media Resources Using Keyboard Shortcuts to Change Case Options Forms & Publications POSTED IN: APPLE, MICROSOFT OR WINDOWS, TECH TIPS « Back to Tech Tips WHY ARE YOU YELLING? Well, maybe you're not, but you accidentally left CAPS LOCK on and your computer is raising its voice. Or perhaps you use a time entry program that requires you to YELL AT IT BY SUBMITTING YOUR NARRATIVE IN ALL CAPS but you forgot to toggle CAPS LOCK off? (And, yes, there are such programs, and yes, many lawyers still use them.) On both Windows and Mac OS devices, rather than retyping, you can use keyboard shortcuts to quickly cycle through case options - ALL CAPS, all lower, Sentence case, and Cap Each Word (only appears when there is no punctuation at the end of text selection). Note that this will only work in certain programs (undoubtedly Word and Outlook) so if you try it and it doesn't work in a particular program or window, just copy and paste the text into a program such as Word or an email window in Outlook and paste it back after the transformation. • Select the text that needs an attitude adjustment. o Windows: Press SHIFT + F3 until the case you want is applied. • Mac: Select the text, and then press fn + SHIFT + F3 until the style you want is applied. « Back to Tech Tips
