I think they should have renamed it "suicide prevention hotline" to be more clear.

My best honest bet because I don't know much about mastodon either is that they have a point (valid or not, a point) of not using Twitter, realized there isn't much of an alternative but think there should be an alternative anyway (since Tumblr enabled comments that's a drop-in replacement for me) and this is what they found out after 20-30 minutes of googling.

If they spent 50-60 minutes googling instead they would have either given up on needing to have a Twitter handle or going for Threads, Bluesky or whatever, I just don't want to enable the Zucc, I'm already suspended over deliberately refusing the updated EULA after new legislation gave us the option to do so.
