Notes:

Facundo Molares was an Argentine photojournalist and leftist activist. During the 2001 crisis, he migrated to Colombia, where he joined the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. His activities there earned jail time until July of the previous year.
On August 10, 2023, he was protesting at the Obelisk of Buenos Aires (which involved a street closure). Once the police came to neutralize the protest after there was an attempt to burn something. Detentions were made, and Molares was one of the people to be sent to the police station. Molares suffered a decompensation, and ended up dying of a heart attack after several revival attempts.
The circumstances around his death were highly controversial, especially considering that this Sunday there are presidential elections. The previous murder of Morena Domínguez, a 11 year old girl that died after being stabbed by criminals in order to steal her backpack, was also very controversial.
One of the acts of solidarity towards Molares was this tweet. Given that she wrongly spells his surname as (the more common) Morales, people pointed out that this is likely empty virtue signalling.
