On 16 July 2023, Pilar posted on Twitter a casual picture of herself drinking mate at morning. The general aspect inspired a lot of parodies, which can be easily found on Twitter by searching "es impresionante como podés salir de latinoamerica pero latinoamerica no va a salir de vos JAMÁS". She also attracted criticism because the picture included a couple of sex toys she had. She was also criticized for her perceived lack of good taste.

The intent of the author of this tweet is that society in general has sexist double standards. If men post pictures of themselves being unkempt, no one would give a damn. However, women are expected to appear classy at all times. The tweet also implies there is a component of sizeism in this backlash, something that Pilar also argued.
