The perverted friend's open admission of lust gives a voice to the base animal desires present in all boys, as well as the readers themselves, but simultaneously disqualifies him from any sort of romantic relationship, thus tuning him into a "safe, comic relief character" instead of a dangerous romantic rival However, this dynamic has been reversed in many NTR pom doujins tanited For example, Saruyama Kenichi is regularly depicted cucking away Rito's entire harm in multiple To-Love-Ru doujins. The wall of text poses a theory that I've never considered… but it makes a whole lot of sense. A lot of times, we hate characters that resemble us a little too much, because they're like an uncomfortable mirror shoved right unto our faces.

Taking it into account, that would mean Mineta is hated by both virtue-signallers, normies AND coomers.😲
