Despite being 16+ years old, Team Fortress 2 is one of the most played and most beloved games of all time. However, despite its massive community and long- lasting impact on gaming, TF2 is in an unplayable state. Starting off strong with a bunch of blatant misinformation here. TF2 is NOT one of the most played games of all time (beloved is also questionable). Despite popular belief, TF2 did not peak at 200,000 players like people have led you to believe, the information giving by steamcharts is not accurate, as it counts online players and not players in a server. Lastly, the only long-lasting impact this game had on gaming is introducing micro-transactions, so you can thank TF2 for the reason you have to pay for skins in every new game that releases. The game is overrun with bots that instantly kill every player trying to play the game, spread hate speech, and use their power over the community for financial gain. We want to show Valve that there is no room in the community for the problematic individuals who host these bots, and This Petition is not a direct means of changing things, but a show of numbers for the number of people who want to take a stand against them. While it is true that the game is overrun with bots, they are easily avoidable. Players can also kick them out easily. I'd say the cheater problem is worse than the bot problem as cheaters are harder to detect than the blatant spinbot sniper spamming The petition is just an example of how disorganized, and how unplanned this new *SaveTF2" is. It is also an example of how people will do anything to take advantage of the clout that SaveTF2 provides. The fundamental flaw of this hash tag is the fact it was concieved By youtubers For youtubers. They will always try to deny this but it's true, it was just a big advertisement. Not to mention the fact that they continuously push it. They weaponize their audiences by saying "Valve will definitely do something good this time, just spread this word everywhere! Its totally not advertising its caring for the game!" Instead of actually doing something helpful like spreading the word of community servers and how they can be used to avoid the bots, they decide to do this, this awful movement and brainwash people into loving it. Hell people get so brainwashed they go out of their way to attack anyone who doesn't support it (but thats a topic for another thread). Going back to the petition, its funny how they spread misinformation and ignore literal solutions for the sake of convincing someone to sign it. Its sad to see the community just fall for the SaveTF2 trap expecting anything to change, and then they make a petition expecting it to be the thing that definitely saves them. Change.org petitions rarely do anything and this will never effect anything whatsoever. voice lines and a noisemaker. Not to mention that community servers exist, if you really find kicking bots out of a lobby THAT terrible you can join one of the countless servers that have their own anticheat in place. Also, financial gain? Bot hosters don't get money for hosting bots, I have no idea where this point even came from? The only Its also sad to see people drop actual f------ money on this petition. Even buying a people who get financial gain from bots are TF2 YOUTUBERS as they profited heavily tf2 hat is f------ something, this is nothing. You are just wasting money on a thing off of the original #saveTF2 movement, and are probably planning to again since you that will never happen. The most this petition will ever do is make change.org 100 suckers love throwing them money. more dollars. Valve must do something, because these bots shouldn't have a platform in a beloved and massive game like TF2. We're asking for an open dialogue between Valve and the community. We understand that Valve has other responsibilities, but they have a responsibility to take care of TF2. We ask for open communication from Valve and more clear indication of their plans for TF2. This was mostly sparked from the item servers, because god forbid you cant use your crutch weapons or show off your femboy uwu loadout for 2 days. If you buy an item or read the TOS, you would know that if you spend money, your items will disappear if valve feels like it because you technically dont own it. This was the thing that sparked a second save tf2, and all of the sudden the tweet they were happy Valve will not do anything, and that is a fact. This is a false hope operation and I don't with was all of the sudden the worst thing that ever happened. know how people refuse to see this? The first time didn't work, so why would it work again? Especially with even less people backing it this time... You start another #saveTF2 because the item servers are down for a couple of days? What a joke. God forbid you lose your 5,000 dollar inventories for 2 days guys. Maybe enjoy the game the way it was intended to be played without all of the crutch unlocks? Valve does not do open dialogue, and they never will. It is also not their responsibility to take care of TF2, as the game is not in an "unplayable" state. Unplayable means that you are not able to play the game. I can boot up TF2 right now and get in a match. So no, TF2 is not "unplayable". **please do not donate to promote this petition, simply share it with friends. This part is the funniest to me, because the guy who posted this explicitly said not to donate. (Because it won't do anything) yet like the hive-mind the TF2 community is. they throw away their money on a useless petition that won't do anything anyway. Congratulations guys, you threw money at a stranger that doesn't even know what to do with it. You sure showed those bot hosters! Together we can #saveTF2! TL:DR This movement is a joke, the petition is flawed. Accept the fact that another major update will never come. It pains me to see them just constantly try an already proven useless solution. maybe try something new. Try spreading the word of community servers, maybe to a massive charity donation event the size of the og savetf2 (instead of dropping money on a useless petition drop money on people who need it), or maybe SOMETHING else. We just need to migratel Plus, when the community servers become the main option, the bots will just magically disappear as a problem. Community mods will do better then VAC ever will. Is it a foolproof solution? No, there'll be likely many hurdles, but I think imo it's the best option we got. Did I do it right?

Update as of July 3rd PROCEED WITH CAUTION As of July 1st, Valve has taken extensive measures to alleviate Team Fortress 2's botting crisis. While we as a community are incredibly grateful for the actions being taken, many of us believe that further evidence is required to warrant a newfound sense of confidence in game's future. If Bots Remain Gone By the Summer Update: These efforts require persistent and continuous upkeep, otherwise we run the risk reverting back to a bot-infested status quo. As the Summer Update draws near, Team Fortress 2 consumers should be heavily encouraged to adjust their spending habits and/or review scores based on whether or not these anti-bot measures continue. This would be great news! However, we must keep in mind that malicious actors have a heightened incentive to host bots during periods of major player-excitement. Before jumping the gun on any in-game or Steam market purchases, we highly recommend waiting on much more additional proof that bot accounts are being met with swift and consistent action. Examples include; game-bans, community bans, and/or account deletion. If Bots Return Before or After the Summer Update: We recommend withholding all monetary investment from TF2 until the issue has been resolved. Team Fortress 2 deserves to be in a playable state before players resume supporting the product financially.
