As it stands, it's just Giovanni himself from a different universe/timeline/dimension/whatever where he succeeded in his plans and has power over hopping between said points in space and time, hiring other evil team leaders who succeeded in their respective worlds.

As cool as that would be, GAME FREAK or Pokémon in general doesn't want to acknowledge the existence of the Orre games. Which is a whole load of Tauros-shit, because they were important in some cases as well, like getting previously inaccessible Johto Pokémon, blessing us with some bops that sadly go unnoticed by casual fans due to the GameCube not selling that well and essentially being some of the better games to play for those who crave a challenge.

I'd give anything to at least see some acknowledgement of the Orre Duology, like some of their characters popping up in Masters EX. Who wouldn't want to see interactions like Miror B. with Wallace, and Wes and/or Michael with Penny?

Kinda glad they dropped the "Mastermind is actually a fan of the Main Villain" shit. It just doesn't seem right to have RR Giovanni turn out to be a former Grunt that looked up to the OG Giovanni.
