The entire f------ game is about accepting yourself; who you are inside, what you think and how you wish to be. Yet after decades and decades people are still full blown retards over it. Kanji is not gay; people projected gayness on the things that Kanji did and liked and thus he overcompensated. He learns to relax and enjoy the things he likes without being insecure over it. His shadow is a gay stereotype because shadows are caricatures of the perception of the inner self, not because he likes dudes. Naoto is not trans, she thinks she needs to be a boy to be respected and taken seriously. She learns that it didn't resolve her insecurity and that she can and would be respected as herself by people who matter. The reason why morons get bent over her is that she's a written example of someone developing gender dysphoria and having it healthily resolved: realizing she doesn't want to be a boy and she's comfortable being herself.
