Unfortunately car enthusiasts are largely broke and don't actually buy these vehicles new, usually having some excuse to complain, but generally coming down to price. Economy cars however sell really well to the mass market. Nissan probably loses money on these sports cars. There's literally no point of keeping them around, hence why they will be axed in the coming years. That's what I'd do if i were CEO.
