Tumblr has a lot of people who wish to share their experiences, mostly their bad ones. We mostly see the more extreme and idiotic side of the community with the SJW's and whatnot but you will find plenty of valid complaints here or there if you look hard enough… Not sure why you would though…

Anyways, the school system in america tends to fall short of it's purpose for many people; that grants the complaint itself. And since so many people have gone to school and experienced the problems with it first-hand, there is a very large amount of people who will agree with and share that complaint amongst the groups they are a part of.

I wouldn't say it's too weird, there certainly are issues with schools. But I have to agree with you that there seems to be a blind following for the opinion. Perhaps it's the age of the typical Tumblr user. They are likely in school, procrastinating on an assignment they received that day, so what would feel better than to find ideas online that would justify their disinterest and distaste in school?

Also, I think that you are taking the joke a little too literally.
