im getting a lot of questions about this and this is also the absolute last i will speak on the subject for a while the 'decision' to resign was mutual. i fully understood what they meant when they brought up my being there as a liability both to the safety of the staff (because who knows what crazies are out there on the internet) and also to the reputation to the company. the company exists on a professional playing field and i get that they have to present themselves in a way that makes them... you know, professional they cannot expect-and i couldnt reasonably expect them-to have to deal with people calling or e-mailing them for things totally unrelated to the job they exist to do. its a waste of company time and resources. they are not babysitters and have no interest in internet politics, especially ridiculous ones that exist on tumblr. and i liked the job and the people too much to really fight against their concerns. i understood. and thats why its ok that this happened, and that i know i will be fine. i genuinely appreciate the concerns and effort from everyone to show their support you are all really wonderful people and im glad to say that i keep company with some of the best if you really wish to help out or make a difference, please consider contacting tumblr staff about changing their policies/how they deal with doxing, and if you really feel compelled to spend money in a meaningful way, keep the holiday spirit alive and consider donating to a charity.
