OK, I looked it up. A British multinational bank (HSBC) helped hide $100 billion in Swiss bank accounts so people could dodge taxes and whatnot.

The chief political commentator of the British newspaper "The Daily Telegraph" resigned, claiming that the newspaper refused to properly report on the story because HSBC was one of their major advertisers.

Over in 8chan, /gamergate/ has a thread about this. (Archive.) A third of them think this could redpill people about GamerGate, a third of them think it's interesting but has nothing to do with GamerGate and should be posted in /pol/ instead, and the other third are in tinfoil mode (as usual).

I can't find anything about Chris Coltrane except that he's some guy on Twitter.
