It's less of a war, and more of "a bunch of popular bronies started watching Steven Universe and now a few nobody tumblr bloggers are throwing fits".

Chances are a small percentage of stalkers, harassers, and/or rapists already watch the show. This is a fact that can't be changed by keeping away those damned Bronies (sarcasm), some of whom, again, probably watch the show too.
