Just a quick note from a non-DID person: why is it that a DID system that includes fictives is so terrible, and yet a guy on the Internet who thinks he's a f------ DEITY is somehow okay? Ijust don't get how a DID system that has a Harry Potter fictive is somehowv many times worse than, say, me The only thing I can figure is that people are more accustomed to (and therefore comfortable with) the idea of people thinking they're incarnate god/desses... and that they're not used to people with more than one personality. Or maybe it's just that this whole moral panic in certain communities (Yes Otherkin, I'm talking about you) over fakers and role-players has finally gone too far off the deep end I don't know either way. But what I do know is that if I, a man who believes himself to be the Goddess Inanna incarnate, can be considered acceptable in this day and age, why the f--- can't people extend that same acceptance to traumatized people who have a character from a favorite book as part of their multiple system?
