The European version of this guy suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. Instead of music references and puns, we get shit like "Time to take back what's mine!" and "Impudent inksquirt!". The closest thing he makes to a music reference is "You ready for this?".

That's the biggest problem with modern Nintendo; not their lack of originality, and not the New 3DS, it's the fact that they keep making the European version of everything they make so damn generic. Nobody liked it when it happened in Mario Kart 7 and nobody likes it now.
