About



Cool Dog is a nickname given to a leashed Shiba Inu dog with an elbow bent over what looks like a doghouse roof. Because of its awesomely cool-headed posture, the image gained traction on imageboard sites like 4chan and later evolved into an Advice Dog spinoff which is currently ranked #26 on MemeGenerator’s Top Tier. He has also been seen photoshopped into various “cool” places.

Origin

The origin of Cool Dog remains in the veil, but one of the earliest known instances can be found in Bram Eulaers’ image collection uploaded on November 3rd, 2008. It was also blogged on Monorail.net on November 7th, 2008.

  • In October 2009, a user named “Cool Dog” appeared on Sythe.org, creating a thread with its Advice Dog spinoff background and the words Cool Story Bro.
