A 4chan meme started in 2006 of the Dragonball Z character Cell in blackface shouting “SHOOP DA WHOOP”, “IMMA CHARGIN MAH LAZER”, and/or “IMMA FIRIN MAH LAZER”, typically ending with the firing of said lazer. Though the origin is disputed, Encyclopedia Dramatica claims it to be a Flash animation called “Syntax Error #2” on /b/.

The meme has been reproduced as both images, motivators and animations.

Notable: DominicFear’s “Lazer Collection”, which has spread mainly via youtube.

It’s crazy. I had seen Shoop Da Whoop for years, but it hadn’t really occurred to me that this was a blackface thing. At first it reminded me of this cartoon I used to watch in the 80s where all the characters had mouths for heads. I think it might have been a spinoff of the California Raisins cartoon. I remember getting little plastic figurines of the characters from Pizza Hut. But then I remembered they didn’t have eyes.
