14 Unhinged Posts From Obsessive LinkedIn Users

Usually the platforms that contain the most insane people are ones like Facebook, sites that don't really have an aura of professionalism to them. But there is one website that is unusually unhinged. The website that is made for professionals and working people to connect with one another, build a sort of connected system. LinkedIn is actually riddled with people who have totally lost the plot in life. These people eat, breathe and sleep their jobs and believe that everyone else should, too.

The posts some users on there make are the kinds that scream hustle culture. They hate weekends and holidays and believe everyone should have a side hustle. Maybe that's the life for some, but certainly not for many. Reddit's /r/LinkedInLunatics features some of the most insane people and posts from the website. These posts are not really what you would expect to see on LinkedIn if you aren't a user, but they actually are strangely common. Here are 14 posts from people on LinkedIn that are just… odd.

Who Has The Time?

Anselmo Ramos - 2nd Founder/Chief Creative Officer, GUT 1d Hire slow. Do 3-hour interviews. Have coffee, lunch, dinner. Ask your team to meet the candidate and see if it's a good fit. The higher the position, the slower you should hire. I've been interwiewing someone for the last 5 years. The person doesn't even know. It's going well. 5,252 282 Comments

Salary Range Bad

Steve Crider. 2nd Independent Recruiter Helping ... + Follow 1d Let's say you, Mr. Company, post a job and include the salary range in the job description. The range is $100-$130k. Here's what will happen... 1) People making or wanting more than $130k will not apply. 2) People making or wanting more than $130k will apply and tell you $130k is fine...until the next job comes calling where they get what they actually want. 3) People making less than $100k or in the lower tier of the range will apply in droves and ask for the upper part of the range (payday baby!!) Let's say you, Mr. Company, post a job and do not include the salary range in the job description. The range, which the applicant does not know, is $100-$130k. Here's what will happen... 1) All kinds of people will apply. Some underexperienced, some too experienced, some just right. 2) If you truly have room to stretch at the top of the range for a great candidate, you will see and be able to play ball with these folks. 3) Candidates will be more honest about what they want versus "playing to the range" (aka giving a salary requirement with bias from the range) 4) You will waste more time reviewing/filtering applicants who are not in your range These are not comprehensive lists, but the point is clear. "Salary Transparency" in job descriptions has negative consequences for companies AND applicants. There are pros and cons to such transparency. Be careful what you wish for.

That Happened

Charlotte Lloyd. 2nd I help sales reps & creative entrepreneurs win higher paying clients with sales coac... 16h. I cold called a Sales VP 3 weeks ago who was hostile at first Me: "Hey it's Charlotte from Social Selling & Cold Outreach ....got a moment to tell you why I called " VP: "Look, you caught me in the middle of something.." Me: "Appreciate that, mind if I share why am calling and you can decide if you want to hang up on me?" + Follow VP: Long pause: "Charlotte, wait a minute, is it Charlotte from LinkedIn? Me: laughs..."Err yes it is, seems like you know me already?" Wait, a cold prospect who knows me!! VP: "Yes I ask my sales team to follow you and love your posts". Me: "Great, this isn't really a cold call then!!" VP: 'No it isn't *laughing*"!. I continued the call and booked the meeting. Turns out, this VP was following me and we weren't connected here. Cold outreach works better if you show up on LinkedIn. Content creation gets you seen. Getting seen = less awkward conversations PS - What are you doing to make your outreach easier?

That's Crazy

10 hours ago MBA Today one of my employees asked for a raise because he will be a father. I instantly fired him on the spot. It's simple. Do you raise capital when your business is failing? Do you expand and hire new employees when you are at a loss? After working for me for so many years he didn't learn which one is an asset, which one is a liability. Haha E If you are earning only 27,000 taka per month, you should at the very least inform your boss on your family planning. I hired you for work, not to provide seed funds for your seed. our salary is a clear indication of your contribution to society. If it is so low, how can you even think about reproduction? You're simply compounding your failures. Comment You, Zahin Fayaz Ishan and 744 others Share
