To the utmost surprise, the production was very well kept under wraps until some footage was leaked on April 15th, 2019. On April 16th, 2019, the directors of Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo, tweeted a letter to "the greatest fans in the world". They wrote, "When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don't spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn't want it spoiled for you." Spreading the #DontSpoilTheEndgame. For the most part, fans did just that, even large meme sites such as Reddit implemented the ban.
