What's The 'He Don't Got Internet' Meme And Who Is 'TDF?' The Young Thug Quote And TikTok's Controversial Rap Producer Explained

Rapper Young Thug was once quoted saying, "He don't have internet," about NBA player James Harden. It started a meme that's recently led to a series of TikTok videos about a rap producer named TDF.
Why? Well, it's because of an alleged photo of TDF in which he's wearing a controversial facemask. It has a skull on it and some think it's because he's flirting with alt-right aesthetics. But what does this have to do with TDF having "no internet?"
Confused by all the "No Internet" memes on TikTok? Unsure about who TDF is? Let's explain what's going on.

Where Did The 'He Got No Internet' Meme Come From?
In 2020, COVID-19 led to a worldwide pandemic and in the U.S., police brutality came to the forefront of the news as well, following the death of George Floyd.
The tragedy inspired a rise in the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as its counter movement, Blue Lives Matter.
A month after Floyd's passing, NBA player James Harden was photographed wearing a Blue Lives Matter face mask. It sparked outrage and in response, Harden said to news outlets, "I thought it looked cool, that was it."

Harden's friend, rapper Young Thug, came to his defense. In a now-famous tweet, he wrote, "Just so you know, James Harden is my brada… BTW, he don't have internet so he obviously don’t know what’s right or wrong…"

How Is The 'He Got No Internet' Meme Used Online?
Since then, Young Thug's "He don't have internet" has turned into "He don't got internet." People use it online when someone's committed a cancellable offense, but those closer to the subject know that they're not chronically online like the rest of us.
The catchphrase humorously casts reasonable doubt, suggesting that the subject is too innocent and unbothered by social media chatter to know which actions are problematic and which are not.

Who Is 'TDF?'
TDF, often spelled in all lowercase as "tdf," is an underground rap producer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was recently profiled by the FADER because he's been blowing up in the scene. He's collaborated with notable rappers like Xaviersobased and OsamaSon, among others.
TDF has also gained a cult following on TikTok, mostly because his beats stretch the limit of what an 808 can sound like. This tracks with memes about 808s in rap music, in line with popular catchphrases like, "The 808s fighting for their life" or "Conversating with the 808s."
TDF's beats became the subject of JuggTok posts at the start of the year. He and other producers like perc40 and 1oneam have ridden the wave quite smoothly.

What's With The Memes About TDF Having 'No Internet?'
At the start of the year, a photo of a guy wearing a skull face mask was widely circulated online. It was allegedly of TDF. In one meme, the figure was compared to the Nashville, Tennessee, Antioch High School shooter, who wore the same covering.

The photo has recently resurfaced because fans of TDF are chalking up the wardrobe choice to "He don't got internet."
The joke has devolved into representing TDF as a neo-Nazi regardless, because that's what the skull is associated with online. This means editing TDF into Hyperborea and Agartha, set to a Bladee remix, all while flashing "He don't got internet" in text overlay.
