However, some fans seem to think an appearance from the legendary creepypasta character Herobrine could save the whole thing. But who is Herobrine exactly and will he appear in the film? Who Is Herobrine?

Herobrine is a character from a Minecraft creepypasta story that dates back to the Minecraft forums in 2010. The story goes that a player loaded up their single player Minecraft world and noticed a character obscured in the fog who looked like the default "Steve" skin but with glowing white eyes. This shouldn't have been possible since they were on a single player map. To make matters even stranger, the player started to notice some unexplainable constructions that didn't seem to be randomly generated.

The player shared their experience on the forums, but their post was deleted. Then they received a message from a user named Herobrine telling them to "stop," only for the user's page to 404 when clicked on. Another forum user reached out to the player, claiming to have seen the same character in their map. After several other players came forward, they determined that the mysterious character, referred to now as "Herobrine," belonged to the brother of Notch, the creator of Minecraft.

When Notch was contacted about this, he responded to the player, writing that he used to have a brother, but not anymore, suggesting his brother met some tragic fate. Essentially, the creepypasta claims that Herobrine is the ghost of Notch's brother, who roams Minecraft worlds. Along with the story, the player shared a single screenshot purportedly showing Herobrine standing in the fog just out of reach.

Is Herobrine In A Minecraft Movie?

Recently, the teaser trailer for A Minecraft Movie starring Jack Black was released. So far, the reactions have been mixed-to-negative, resulting in a lot of memes about various aspects of the trailer. One of the most popular memes has viewers imagining what the movie might look like if Herobrine made an appearance.

Some of the most popular memes take Jack Black or Jason Momoa's characters and edit their eyes to look white, placing them alongside captions imagining Herobrine's introductory scene.
