Super Smash Brothers director Masahiro "Don't Ask Me For Anything Ever Again" Sakurai, aka "The Absolute Madman," has done it again. After silencing naysayers who said Ridley Is Too Big for Smash Brothers, shocking the world by adding Persona 5's Joker to the roster and finally answering the decades-running calls to put Banjo-Kazooie in Smash, the legend has added yet another holy grail-character to the Smash roster: Sans.

Yes, the Undertale mischief maker is finally in Super Smash Brothers after over a year of Sans In Smash memes and arguments. Granted, Sans is available as an alternate skin to the Mii Gunner character instead of an original fighter, but it's frankly surreal nonetheless. The news was dropped during yesterday's Nintendo Direct, which also included the debut of other alternate Mii fighter skins based on Team Rocket from Pokémon, Goemon from Mystical Ninja, Proto Man from Mega Man and Zero from Mega Man X. Each will be available for 75 cents. A new Megalovania remix by Toby Fox will also be added to the game

As one can imagine, the news drove the Smash community absolutely bananas.

Other Smash news from yesterday's Direct include the fact Banjo-Kazooie officially became playable yesterday and that Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury would be the next DLC fighter, but all that has frankly been dwarfed by the introduction of Sans. His inclusion can most likely be attributed to the popularity of the "Sans In Smash" meme, which frankly means anything is possible in the series' future. Who knows? We may just get Goku, Sora, and Geno in an upcoming DLC package. But probably never Waluigi.
