Earlier discussion: why is there no gifs of new episode?
I'm a little perplexed as to why we had a new episode and on the MLP page there was hardly any new pics, macros, and gifs being uploaded from it. There was a bunch of Tumbler ask blogs and old episode stuff being uploaded.

I'm guessing it's the latter. I don't have DirecTV, so I'm not sure.

Frankly, I've been wondering why there aren't anymore gifs of Pound and Pumpkin. BRONIES!!!

Maybe its a good thing the gallery isnt being flooded with tons of short gifs/macros/etc?

It's already bad enough that the image gallery moves too fast to keep up with all the new pics. Last thing we need is more stuff to add to iits already alarming size and growth rate.

But it's being flooded with Tumbler ask blogs. How is that a good thing? I kinda feel that the Pony Reaction page is what the Main page should be like and all the ask blog, Deviant Art, Comics, etc. should be in their own entry. But that's just how I feel.

I agree but we should try not to be to harsh about it. That wouldn't help.

I do wish there was a way to sort the pictures in the KYM Gallery. Have several folders and stuff. Tumblrs, Screencaps, Pencil fanart, Vexel fanart, etc. But then again the gallery was never intended to have thousands of pictures in it.

About posting that in the KS thread, feel free to. Leave out the MLP part if that makes you feel better, but I don't mind. The part about how it reached many people will probably do as well.

Back to the topic.

Why the game has reached so many people, it's unknown to me. But you said that the visual novel genre was something you never tried before. This was the case with many people who played the game. So a lot of people who played (and loved) the game were inexperienced with visual novels. So they didn't really know what to expect, nor how to react. I guess that's a lot of reason for it to be so popular.

Like that you can compare it with MLP yes. Many people who got into the MLP fandom were inexperienced with this type of fandom. Most of us only knew about MLP in our youth from the toyline, as the previous generations were something from before our time or we just didn't want to watch it (being male and stuff).

But both have created a fandom beyond expectations. Whether this is the start of a new way of acceptance on the web, I can't tell. I rather just go along with and enjoy it.

Even I am guilty of uploading stuff on the main page that shouldn't be there but that was back when we only had the one entry and then it became out of control they tried to clean it up with no luck. Now it is what it is.

I mostly favorite images and gifs that I like. I barely submit anything. Except maybe that one picture of Sweetie Belle.

You mean that Derpy and Vinyl images should go to their pages, similar to other characters and memes. Instead of everything on the main article?

Because I agree with this. The seperate articles are always forgotten after a while and people stop uploading art there, only to upload everything again in the main article or to both articles.

Oh sorry. As I said, I rarely submit anything to the main page but it would be good for things to slow down a bit there. On another note, Tiara Lost didn't respond to my command but responded an anon's. Why?

I think there is enough images there as is. We should encourage people to upload into the other articles related to MLP.

At 30,000+ images, i think its enough. Especially now with the changed gallery thing (instead of pages, its scrolling down) it would be impossible to view every image. and no offense to anyone but at least 60-80% of the stuff in there isn't needed. Just tons of macros, reposts and either offensive, unoriginal stuff.

There's a reason that I stopped using the main page for my MLP images. There came a point where there were so many being uploaded per day that it could take a good half an hour to get through them all. Most of them were crap anyway. They should really have rules like:

• No Tumblr ponies (unless it's a classic post that's been reblogged a hundred-thousand times 'cause it's that good)
• No background characters who have their own articles
• Nothing that fills the criteria for 'art fads'
• No members can post more than 5 pics per day
  These days I just rely on EqD to deliver my daily shipment of pony pics. It's not ideal, and I probably miss most of the best ones, but it saves a lot of time and I still get to see a bunch of great comics.

I accidentally gave Ideo krama before. I honestly clicked the page by accident while the mouse just happened to be hovering over the '+1 krama' button. So err, yeah… enjoy your free kramas.

It doesn't matter if it's an anon submitting a question or someone with a username. People will only answer questions that they feel like answering, so maybe they just didn't have a good response for yours.

I also just realised that you ditched the name 'Aerostat' and you're back with Ideological. I approve.

Oh no, I didn't mean it like that. General art that doesn't have a seperate page can still be uploaded there. The staff already told us multiple times that the servers aren't an issue at this. More art is always better and shows spread.

I just wish the seperate articles weren't forgotten all the time.

I don't fully agree to the "5 images per person" rule, but the rest are nice rules. I really need to clean up Re-Imaginings sometime next week so we can be more clearer of that page as well.

Yes. Especially the R34 and other disturbing images. Clean up time? Clean up time. But then again, some people might get mad if we removed any stuff from the page.

I agree with Random. Things like sub-entries's art have uploadel dates of over a month ago. There needs to be a stricter enforcments on that kind of issue. I want to be able to be gone for a few hours and not have to scroll past 500 new pics, DAMMIT!

That would be nice. I'm tired of having to search for a specific image. There's a time when it gets old and that time is now.

People will be upset if we removed stuff from the page? But of course, they own all that content and spent countless hours, days, months preparing that content.

Its time to clean up the images section. Find the images with the lowest ratings (can be done easy in the gallery) and remove anything not wanted by the community.

I agree 1000%. This is why I never visit the entry.

That's the spirit. Get rid of any unneeded stuff but keep the images people like. We don't want to seem like the bad guy.

Ooops I clicked on +1 Krama for evryones posts. I'm being an New Oldfag and no one can stop me.

Another thing maybe is to remove images that dont exactly have a negative amount of votes but those that didnt get past a certain number of votes or faves. i.e images that people barely looked at, or people just didnt feel the need to fave. Those images aren't popular so it wouldnt hurt to remove them. I.e images that have been there for say 30 days but got 0 upvotes, 0 faves.

Like said before, too much art isn't the issue. We don't need a witch hunt looking for all the bad art and deleting whatever you think isn't needed (and check if they're lighter than a duck :p).

Just getting people to upload stuff to the right page will do the job for now.

With that said, I also made a comment about it on the main article. I don't ask you people to reply to it or start a discussion, but get it upvoted to the top comment section so that everyone reads it.

Based on their roles in the story, I believe Applejack and Rarity should be switched. But the rest is spot on.

I actually tried to help start a hater entry because pics like that are/were being used and do have a place in the history of this meme but you can guess what happened with that idea.

Ahhh, no it mainly came from bronies saying we don't need to have a page that promotes hate and it's already mentioned in the main article so it doesn't need to be moved from the main page. So the hate pics stayed and continued to be uploaded there and getting several downvotes from bronies.
