We can no longer make the argument that its a children’s show:
Oh?
The first one is just goofy. Being older and having less pure minds, we can easily see that as being suggestive. However, if I need to go into more detail, I'd argue that it's less of an air hump, because Dash's more aggressive movement is away from what she is "humping" and not towards it. It was made to appear like a silly motion.
A look of satisfaction would be seen from any animated character after receiving something they haven't had in a while. There is a nod to the fact that it could be seen as alcoholic, but it is cider as canon.
Butt ramming is odd, but considering that they are ponies and not humans, it's hard to make that any bit sexual. At the most, you could say that it was sensual, but there are plenty of dances I've seen for much younger audiences that require kids aged 6 or less to shake their butts or their hips.
…I don't really have much argument for Fluttershy being embarrased, but it's already been stated that ponies don't wear clothes.
…
…
Ok, I'm not making a great point here. I'm mostly rationalizing. But you know that it's targeted toward the young girl demographic. The show would be put off of the air if homosexuality came up. I think you know that. I don't think your point was to say that homosexuality can be put on air without backlash.
I'll grant you that some of the humor was made with a complete awareness of wear The Line was without crossing it.
Can someone explain, what is with the “fangasm” over Derpy talking.
- A non-speaking background pony
- In a show for young girls
- was given a personality
- a voice
- and an entire scene
- that drove the plot of an episode
- From fans responsible for Futashy.
- And more specifically, fans that are not of the target demographic.
You have to take into account that broneis are much more zealous than other people, because geeks get that way about what they really like. But what we essentially created became canon.
It'd be like a person making up a superhero and it becoming a character in a comic.
Broneis have conceived a part of the show.
