I did not enjoy the episode. I laughed at a couple parts, but for the most part, I would say it's my least favorite one of all time…

Well, I enjoyed that episode. As usual, any reasons I can give have been previously stated by Algernon. Also, that new episode sounds unusually…sci-fi. I'm interested to see where they take it, but at the same time, I'm a little trepidatious about it, because it would be so easy to get it wrong.

No, it's not your crappy browser. It's just that they put the hair in a funny position. She's not bald, just has a weird hairstyle. God, 2012 is going to be the death of me. I made this to show why bronies and KS players are not so different.

I just watched the episode and I must admit it was a bit disappointing considering all the hype. It was okay but not one of the best episodes. Sweetie Belle was awesome and I swear Applebloom's accent has gotten a lot stronger than I remember it being. The song was disappointing but then again as soon as I heard there was going to be a song I imagined it would be the best song in the series ever and I would instantly learn it on guitar and record a weird cover of it. I guess the song was okay but it was really the lyrics that made the song rather than the music to me. I was really confused when Big Mac spoke but that's probably because he usually just says one word. Also, I'm glad we got more Cheerilee because she's an awesome character.

So I guess that's the end of my weekly unstructured paragraph of thoughts and opinions on the episode.

I have no idea what KS players is. Only KS players (not even the right acronym for it, although the name is pretty similar, missing only 2 letters.) I've heard of is a dark part of Transformers that no fan or anypony wants to even aknowledge it exists.

I'm okay with tanned skin, but 90% of the Twilight humanizations I've seen are (How do I say this without sounding racist and making Verbose mad………), well, just full-out African-American. I have no problem with a darker skin-tone, but at least put some effort into making them close to the actual thing. (Sorry if I offended anyone. Remember, all posts are to be considered part of my insane ranting that should have no value. If you do find something of merit, meh. Sense can come from nonsense. Who knew?)

Genocide? I'd say it's something other than genocide. Sure, she was planning to starve them from famine, but genocide is the killing of an entire religous, ethnic, racial, or national group. Her reign of the night threatened ALL of Equestria's existance, not just the ponies. So, it's probably xenocide, the killing of an entire alien species. (Yes, I consider them aliens. Deal with it.)

Damn it, I just looked for ten minutes and couldn't find her Word of God ruling.

NmM wanted to "usher in an era of darkness" meaning literally and figuratively. Somewhere else she said that Nightmare wanted eternal night both for the sake of ponies ignoring it AND explicitly to cause famine. That makes me think she was more into the revenge part of it than ruling; she just wanted them all dead.

TL;DR
In my headcanon (based partly on the Word of God) Nightmare just wanted them all dead and eternal night causing plants, and therefore ponies, to die was just an easy way to do it.

I always had it as Nightmare Moon's prescence being a by-product of Luna's anger and sadness at not being appreciated, came into existance to help Luna get the attention she wanted, and only wanted the ponies to notice the night. So, she made it impossible for them to ignore it. I'd say she only wanted to be appreciated, not to kill everyone. The whole "refusal to lower the moon" thing was just her trying to get them to notice the beauty of the night. It was not meant in malice or murderous intentions, just anger at being ignored and an outcast. Think, a pony who's only active at night probably doesn't get much of a social life, and probably is considered a weirdo by the others, killing any chance of interaction or acceptance.
