Guys, I'm getting really frustrated at MLP again… Once again, I'm getting annoyed that everyone else sees something in this show that I don't. Sorry to bring this up again, but if there's anything anyone can do to ease my frustrations, that'd be nice.

I admire you dedication in attempting to like the show. But you have to realise that you can't force things. If after all this time you still get frustated by MLP, maybe you should just draw the conclusion it isn't something for you. And leave it at that.

Sadly, not everypony's meant to be a brony.

Sorry Fluttershy.

But SRSLY don't force it. Either you like it, you don't like it, or you have no feelings one way or the other. I think you're the latter.

Don't worry about it man. You can't force yourself to like things. What's brilliant for some people, might not be for others. Take my favorite all time shows, MST3K and MXC. I think they are funniest things ever and don't get nearly enough recognition for how great they are, but a lot of people I know can't stand them at all and say they are just stupid. It all depends on what you like I guess.

Agreed. I like cyber goth but I doubt anypony else here likes it.

I don't even know what that is. What is cyber Goth?

And are there any MST3K or MXC fans in here?

I like both, but I find that if I watch too much at once I get sick of them. I find that the humour gets repetitive. Outside of MLP I like shows like The Simpsons, Futurama, and It's Always Sunny, but also some more serious ones like Spooks, Doctor Who, and Breaking Bad.

@Ideo: I find that stuff interesting, but I don't ascribe to it.

INB4 Verbose: I also have a significant AJ component, so I guess you're right.

Well, I think we're set on it being about having little suspension of disbelief. In an effort to find some starting shows and cartoon for you to adjust to inconsistencies, I've got a link to a TvTropes page about internal consistency bookmarked, but I've yet to pick out the shows from it that you might be able to adjust to. After that, it may be a matter of working your way up. Problem is that I've still got some IRL stuff to attend to along with some KYM things. It may take a while especially sense my Internet access may be limited over the course of the next few weeks…

If you think it's something else along with that though, then I might have to agree with Random and a few others here. It seems like FiM may be more annoying and more trouble to try to get into than any benefits you'd get out of it. It's not a bad thing to not be a Brony, and the understanding may just simply be that we really like something that a lot of people just don't get.

But that's not our call to make. If you're still set on figuring out the show and the fandom, then I'll keep thinking about ways to help you adjust to it. I'm not sure if I've suggested this, but you may end up liking the art from the show without knowing much about the show itself. That could be a "backdoor" to enjoying the show. Or just watching clips of certain lines or scenes (kyrospawn, mlprandom, epicgteguy on YouTube) removes most of the plot but allows for you to see some of the humor and cuteness.

And I'll still try to get a list of some more shows. It may just take a while, because the shows I have in mind may still require too much suspension for you. All I've suggested were those two DC shows and Animaniacs (which wasn't my suggestion, but it certainly has a lot of fun nonsense with snark and parodying.)

@Ideo

confessions suk y u rite dem itz so lame dey dont do anything ur such a attenshun hoers
^ That is your warm up. However, I doubt you hear anything worse than that here. And I'm generally indifferent about people writing them. If you want to, then do it.

Even though I haven't read them outside of when Connor suggested we read a few, I think they're good for people to get out in the open while still staying protected by anonymity. Some of which are just rants, but ranting is good every once in a while. When you're talking with bronies you know, you do have to hold your tongue. That tumblr would be good for something like that. Some of the confessions are honestly weird, but I'd prefer a person share it as opposed to keeping it to themselves. Especially when the confession has become a part of their identity.

It doesn't bother me that they exist. On the whole though, I don't want to know what's written there unless I'm discussing something in particular.

To everyone getting Twilight:

We're both Applejack. Ok. But I think I was more decidedly Applejack than any other pony.

AJ=tl;dr?

True, but I feel the same about everything. Too much of a good thing is bad. I love Its always sunny and futurama too. The night man cometh and the world series episodes are my favorite.

@Ideo
oh, that. Yeah, I can't say Im a fan of that.

Allons-y, opspe!

And there is my point. I'm the only cyber goth brony here.

My apologies for the recent walls of text. It's not something people can respond to, so I need to get back to lengthy but reasonably-sized posts so people can actually say something about it. Let me find a picture of Applejack:

For the 15th time, dude, this show is not for you. Stop trying to force yourself to like something you don't.

Don't ask me. I dunno.

And then Derpy appeared and shouted "muffin!" loud enough for everypony to hear.

Welcome! Welcome, to the Club of Twilight Sparkles.
I am more like Twilight Sparkle as well. Same with Fridge.
Now we can be like the Illuminati. :D

Those shows are funny as hell.

@Ideo
Actually I still listen to that kind of music.

Why must you discriminate on the basis of differences in life? I thought you wanted us to be happy about our differences.

In the Arab world, a dubbed version of Takeshi's Castle was made called "Al Hisn" or "The Fortress"

An entire generation of Arab children grew up watching that show. Good times, good times.

I don't like the dub that they've given it in MXC, in the Arabic version they actually got a news announcer to try and make some serious commentary on what is going on.

The juxtaposition of a deep bass news announcer trying his best to explain the craziness onscreen in a completely calm voice just made the whole thing funnier.

Unintentional comedy is best comedy. See for yourself:

I took that brony test and lol wut how did I get Rarity?

> realizes I picked cat for the pet question, tom for the rock, paper, scissors question, diamonds for the deck of cards question

Oh…

WAHAHA!

It is pretty funny how calm he is, even though I don't understand it. But I love the american version because its just so stupid what they say. Just like Kung pow, Intentionally funny dubs are just hilarious to me!

Edit: thats awesome Gigatoast!

I found some of those questions pretty stupid. I picked spades because of motörhead, how does that relate me to anypony?
