@fridge logic
I know what happened. I'm just saying that I forgot that I started the topic by bringing up Luna's sex life by saying she should use birth control.
Ah, page 69 on thread 3. That page will live in infamy. We raped the minds of so many people.

Lots of speculation from everypony!

Discord's back and he's got Screwball impersonating the princess in order to obtain political power? I CAN DREAM CAN'T I?!

Now back to lurking on the Bioware social network waiting for them to retcon ME3's ending. Great episode by the way.

Wait did luna Really have 2 foals? God where the hell have i been?

Faust or someone else on the FiM team said back when everyone was freaking out over Blueblood being Celestia's nephew that he was removed 78 times or summat.

That implies that the Princesses' parents had other foals and that Blueblood and Candace are their children descendants, but not those of the Princesses.

Or Luna coulda been very very lunaughty for all we know.
I'm just looking forward to the explanation.

In all seriousness, nobody knows.

You are just looking at fan speculation. But I personally suspect Luna and Celestia have no offspring

What do you think is up with princess Candance? What is she hidding?

The way I see it is that she could…

A.not really be an alicorn

B.be an evil enchantress

C.secretly take after molestia

Let's take a look at all the possibilities and rate them by feasibility.

1) Candace has a fake horn/wings.
It would make bronies happy. Keep the only canon alicorns to the Princesses (and the one in the love poison book).
It would make for some good comedy. The lesson could be about being yourself and that people love you for you, not your looks.

2) Candace is Discord in disguise.
This would make bronies happy because it's just so awesome.
We know that John DeLancie (I think that's his name) did more voicing that we haven't seen yet. We think he'll be doing Discord because that's who he was (I also think his voice is pretty distinct so they couldn't get away with him being anypony else). It would be more great comedy.

3) Candace isn't royal / is a bitch / other
Meh. It'll be good Twilight backstory either way.
More stuff about being yourself probably.

I'm most hoping for her horn/wings to be fake, because it preserves my delicate headcanon.
I think the third option will be most likely just because it isn't anything BIG.

Either way, I'm really looking forward to these episodes now. And they're on the same day, oh goody!

I'm not sure what Candace's secret could be, but it could lead to the reason to why random clones of the Mane Six came out of hammerspace. Which is odd how nobody here isn't surprised about said predicament, but I digress. From what's shown, I think this will be a great season finale.

The same day?

Because I thought they would keep it as a weekly thing like they always do. I am really happy they are keeping it together as if it is a movie. Instead of a week apart like in animes…

Full box set coming to Australia.
Maybe more important other countries will receive it soon?
Discuss.

I am getting that (when it comes out for US DVD players).
I need to be able to say that I got some pony merch besides a brony t-shirt.

I also want to say that they might be doing it for us. I remember people asking the company who made the Friendship Express DVD if a box set was coming and they said there was no market for it. Yet here it is.

@Fridge Logic

Interesting, Blossomforth was a blindbag pony. I wonder if they'll introduce more blindbag ponies into the show.

Also did you guys know there is actually a blindbag pinkie recolor named Star Swirl?

STAR SWIRL?

Twilight got the costume all wrong lol.

IF only we knew….GOD THIS IS MAKING ME GO INSANE! WE NEED TO KNOW WE NEED THE ANSWERS!

I'm actually surprised many people found this episode to be one of their favourites, I liked it of course (but I have low standards, I like pretty much 95% of all episodes) but did not find it's way to my top 10. I see a lot of people relate to the anxiety issues fluttershy has.

Which is weird, I have incredible anxiety issues. Once in middle school, I was selected to be the narrator for the school play because people say I'm a clear speaker (I don't mumble or stutter or anything like that. I trained myself not to say "ummm" or "uhhh" when thinking of what to say next) but I was so scared when I saw how many people were in the auditorium I actually bailed on the whole thing. They had to go on without me. I also bailed on a presentation on another day and deliberately chose to fail an assignment because It involved reading something in front of class.

It's gotten a little better in recent years and remember when I used to defend Fluttershy when you MEANIES guys called her one dimensional was because even though she's not my favorite, I mostly act like her out of all the mane 6 (not to the extreme extent she personifies but still).

I know I don't give off that impression from this thread (though I do think nearly everybody acts different online) but I'm incredibly shy in real life.

umm…I'm really sorry for this wall of text…I hope I d-didn't annoy you or anything…..

Ignore the title, I just wanted to post the video, CUZ IT'S AWESOME.

Oh, btw, I am saying this now, to quell all the nonexistent speculation: I am a brony.

@Seal Clubba

I KNOW RIGHT!? THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!

Check out what happened here too. It seems like another ZOMGBIGISSUE is on the horizon thanks to this other Alicorn

Most of the concern seems to come from people who are terrified that other people are taking Cadence too seriously.

It's kind of like a counter-shitstorm. People are raising a shitstorm over an expected shitstorm that has not yet happened because some grumps are being negative over an unreleased character that they are not sure they hate yet.

@Phoneix

Yep, pretty much. Lots of people can relate to Fluttershy in her stress and that's what really made the episode. This has been really great for Flutters character too.

@Brawler

We knew ;)

I’m a sane member of the brony fandom. I don’t even have a pony avatar. :C

What a not so twist.

@Cadence and Blueblood being Luna's kids

NO.
JUST.
FUCKING.
NO.

MY THEORY
Cadence and BlueBlood ARE siblings, but not Luna's kids. Luna and Celestia have a third sister that wasn't lucky enough to gain immortality, so she died. Her decendents lived and died until we end up at these two. And they can't say it to us because at it's core, its still a show where death isn't exactly a safe subject.

Oh god now i don't even know what to think any more! Ahh i need to take my meds- bliggitybloopblopnherderpypofrocklejippyjoplilbilly! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'M GOING INSANEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

I think Candence's cutie mark changed from when we first saw it. I remember it being a cloud and sun (which, notably, implies weather), but now it's that heart thing.
Interesting….
On another note, I just realized her name is spelled "Cadence", not "Candence", and I've been pronouncing it wrong all this time.
…
DAMMIT

That's just because you're special, and get inside information before anyone else.

As for the whole "Screwball/Cadence" thing, we in the TV Tropes business call that Wild Mass Guessing, not speculation.

So, does this mean anyone with a Pony avatar is certifiably insane? Because we have a few members here who would fit the bill. coughDrpepperfancough

Ugh.
Remind me to never go through the image section again.
The stuff there is a good way to remove what little faith I have in this fandom as a whole.

Well, how do you feel about this one?

Yes, it's a Husk.

@Fridge Logic
It's moreso the… ahem, comments on some pictures than the actual pictures themselves.
God, I miss being ignorant about the stuff that goes on in this fandom.

Honestly, I lost my faith in the fandom not because of the R34, but because of the amount of whining and the sense of entitlement amongst the hardcore bronies. Also, those cosplay costumes make me facepalm.

Well, it was a combination of the Rule 34 and that.
Frankly, I don't see a lot of entitlement in this fandom, to be honest. Don't you remember the (surprisingly pleasant) reaction to canon Luna?

Interesting thing I found out yesterday from my communications major brother:

In Japan, the reason why such series as Super Sentai and Kamen Rider are so great, isn't because Japan is just better, its because the TV industry over there makes those shows for kids and their parents (ie takes them seriously). As a result, the industry puts more money and effort into the show's visual, acting and writing.

How does this relate to MLP?

Both MLP and Kamen Rider are derided in the West for being childish, even though the shows have serious writing and are enjoyed by adults.

This of course begs this question from me:

Why is it, that in the West, such things as cartoons or tokukatsus are labeled as childish even though they are thoroughly enjoyed by adults and in other cultures or time periods, they are seen as things everyone can enjoy?

TV Tropes defines this as the Animation Age Ghetto. Basically, back in the olden days (like, the 60s), animation was sub par to live action TV, and the shows were made for children because of quality issues (which kids would hardly notice) and rarely showed on primetime television. Ever since, animated shows have often been considered "for kids", although quality is, for the most part, hardly an issue now. This is primarily a problem in the west, not so much other areas of the world. As Walt Disney put it:

"You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway."
Words for animators to live by.
