Im just gonna leave this here, its me dealing with a hater. I think im gonna have to make a brony guide for all these brony noobs that show up and get butthurt easily.

And there's much, much more.

I just figured about the Season 3 songs
I think there pretty good even though i just spoiled myself

I'm sure he has something that he likes, that doesn't make much sense. He was just giving shit because that's what people do. I'm not condoning his behavior, but I doubt he or most haters actually hate mlp with a red hot passion. I'd say it's similar to people hating on COD and cod players. People just like to talk shit on the Internet, it's fun. The best way to deal with haters is not even answer them, don't concern yourself with what they have to say. They'll get bored and move on. They do it for shits and gigs, not because they are some kind of anti-brony crusade.

It's not fun, it's annoying, and quite frankly, it's trolling. I think Nathan handled the situation quite well.

Season three songs were very high quality. The story doesn't seem as promising in comparison to past seasons. Is this the opener? Some fair? Can we expect to see a new villain or the return of a old classic?

P.s. I'm a newfoal, first post. I like this thread though.

I said its fun for them and they love it when you reply. It's best just to ignore them. Have you ever been botherd by an older relative or a jackass at school? Remember how coming up with a rational retort stopped them? No? That's my point. Best just to ignore them. They don't care what you have to say usually. The reason trolls exist is because people feel the need to "deal" with them. If people just ignored them completely all the time, they would die out like the dinosaurs.

I'm reading "A Song of Ice and Fire". On Clash of Kings.
You know, I saw some memes regarding a Game of Thrones or the entire "Song of Ice and Fire" series, and I thought (before reading) "That would make a good crossover".
Now I'm reading it. It's a great series…
but yeah, I don't think I would want to see MLP like this…

Too many characters whose family relations would not work in the setting, and not to mention, a lot of 'entering of females' and other stuff of the like.
But everything else is awesome with "Ice and Fire".

That can be the case sometimes, but talking back or trying to stand up and fight are always the worst things you can do. Best thing to do is notify the authorities, let them take care of it. Life isn't like back to the future, a sucker punch might bruise his ego until he comes back and beats your ass. Ignore the trolls, they will leave. Anyways, trolls need a reply to see if they botherd you or not, bullies need to only see your face. Even if you ignore them, they see the pain and fear in your eyes and feed off of that. Trolls feed off of replies. Silence drives them away.

Yes, I'll agree with that, though IMO, trolls and bullies are two different things, though I still think Nathan handled it properly. Mainly cause unlike the other guy, he didn't curse and he act butthurt, yeah, he replied, but he replied in a proper way.

His reply was fine. I just prefer to ignore them. They aren't there to have a discussion, they just want to rustle feathers and a reply shows them they were successful. Still, Atleast Nathan did a better job of replying than applejack.

Yeah, I hated school, let's just say I was thrilled when I graduated and no longer had to put up with that crap.

Man, I'm falling in love with the animation, Season 1 had nothing on this smoothness.
In season 2 there's a noticeable increase in Props and BG ponies and BG animation, do you think season 3 would set the bar higher?

Trolls feed off pissed replies, when it seems they are winning and they have succeeded in making you mad. What drives them away is reasoning, when you dont attack them back and only ask them questions in a calm matter, then they realise they cant fight you, and like in my case it comes to a stand still.

Never ignore or Fight back. Never stoop to there level by cursing or using caps lock. (Unless your on 4chan then go all out and have a flame war, thats pretty fun.) But on the internet you need to be mature, dont think like a twelve year old that just got access to the internet with no supervision, and with the power of comments and the belief that his own opinion is correct…

I may seem like a complete idiot on kym, starting many controversies here and there. But when it comes to dealing with trolls and haters on the internet Im pretty mature and succesful, many people have prasied me for that.

When a troll comes in yelling " you fucking virgins should die for liking ponies!" do you think they want to have a discussion? No. If you like replying to trolls, by all means, go ahead. I'm just saying its better to ignore them. I've never really had to deal with trolls because I just ignore them. I don't answer them, I don't try to correct them, I don't get mad, I just let them do whatever until they get banned.

The only replies I ever make regarding trolls are to other people telling them not to reply to trolls. The phrase "Don't feed the parasprites" actually depicts the reasoning quite effectively; the more you try to counter, the more energy they recieve from you. It's true however that trolls are not always the same as haters, or even just dislikers. When I see someone say something more lighthearted like, "I just don't see the appeal of ponies," I might strike up a conversation with them to get more insight.

As for haters, they're the ones mad and raging, so it's actually pretty tempting to be the one who trolls them, but it's very rare that I do anything like that. I think that's only happened on YT and Steam, and only briefly. I don't really approve of trolling, so I do try to resist the urge.

Anybody think this singer would make a good villain for MLP?

I don't really give a fuck. I've gotten so much crap across the 'net, in real life, and every other place you could imagine that I stopped caring about what jackasses think of me. The only people whose opinions I care about are my mom, my dad, my step-dad, and my brother.

As for dealing with them, I think confrontation only works on a few. Ignoring them works across the 'net, of course, but real life is a different story. I got bullied in middle school, and I solved it by beating the shit out of all three of them at once. Of course, Texas is the exception to this case. Usually telling authorities (teachers, cops, all that) about it will help the case, and if it doesn't then you might have to fall back on violence.

Just think your actions through. Fighting back against trolls on the internet rarely helps.

1. has anyone here (or any bronies you know) played Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri? i'm working on a crossover fanfic and i want someone's feedback and advice on a couple points.

2. does anyone know of a good online gif-maker, one that's free and creates decent quality resolution? i don't need any text embedding for what i was thinking of doing, and all i need is one that allows for 10 seconds. i'd really like it if it didn't leave a watermark, but i can live with it if it does. i've tried finding one myself but can't seem to find what i'm looking for.

you should play it, i highly recommend it. did you play any of the Civilization games? in particular, SMAC is very much like Civ 2 (one of my favorite titles from that series). well worth a play through.

haha, i remember Pirates and Golf. Sid Meier's games all have very cool styles that draw you into the game. very enjoyable.

@Season 3: I don't listen to ponysongs so they don't interest me. I'm also going to wait until Season 3 comes before animation previews – that way my mind gets blown the farthest distance out of my head (hopefully without all that Scanners nonsense).

I fucking love SMAC. Send it my way. Though be warned I never played Alien Crossfire expansion pack so I have no idea what those factions are like.

I don't think I've ever had to deal with bullies, just real-life trolls.

I've found that the best way to deal with trolls is just don't let your jimmies get rustled (or at least don't show it). Both ignoring and responding (in a calm way) works.
I remember one time when I was on the bus, someone sitting across from me was trying to troll me. I was ignoring him for the most part. Then the threw a pen at me. I threw it back at him, and he threw it again. This time, I threw it down the aisle. He said "Hey! That's my pen!" Later, I thought "He shouldn't have thrown it if he didn't want to lose it." After I continued to ignore him, he stopped.

I haven't been in a situation where someone was going to hurt me physically (there was this one guy that wanted to, but didn't do it because we were in school and he didn't want to get in trouble), but I can think of a few options someone could have:
1. Fight back
2. Don't fight back
3. RUN!!
Let's examine the consequences of each choice;
1. Gets both of you hurt and at least one of you in trouble. This is stooping to their level. In my opinion, I don't believe fighting back is justified when you have other options.
2. You get hurt. The other guy gets in trouble. You're seen as the victim. Hard to do because of being against our instincts, but it has better results than Option 1.
3. Nobody gets hurt. I'm not sure if someone could get in trouble for just a threat, though. I know this could cause people to think you're a "coward" or whatever, but would you rather get beaten up and called brave or be unharmed and called a coward? Personally, I don't think it's worth the physical injury. But really, why is facing danger favored in the first place? Avoiding danger has little to no bad consequences. There are some things that you have to deal with to get solved, like problems. But there are other things that avoiding them is the way to go, like danger.

I've never really been a fan of the concept of other nations or kingdoms in the world of ponies. Screw other species like Gryphons and Zebras; they probably just toil away in some miserable isolated communities, paying tribute to the mighty pony overlords to stave off the destruction of their clans. Though the song doesn't give us a whole lot to go off of, and regardless I'll approach any new canon with an open mind. Fanon, on the other hand: fuck yo fanon.

The idea of Celestia taking Trixie as a student is just not going to happen.
It doesn't make sense in anything but a silly fanfiction scenario.
If anything, Celestia could take on a new foal-aged student, thus 'replacing' Twilight who has grown up and moved out now.
Perhaps the 'test' she's failing is an assignment to bring the new student up to speed.
A 'student becoming the teacher' kind of scenario.
Twilight feels she still has too much to learn to adequately teach somepony else and freaks out accordingly.

@Bullying/Trolling stuff
As with everything in life, there is never going to be one universal answer.
Some bullies will give up and move on if you ignore them.
Others, like one that I had, just see that as a challenge and will continually escalate their efforts.
Some will respect someone who stands up to them, others will be insulted by your 'insubordination.'
On the internet, since the threat of physical violence is obviously moot, ignoring is typically the best response.
I'll usually try a reasonable counter-argument at first until I'm sure that there is no desire for an actual conversation, but then they fall into the 'ignore' file.
The best part about the internet is it's size and malleability.
You have total freedom to use it as much or as little as you want, so ignoring someone should be the simplest thing in the world.

I recall a tumblr that was about a G1 crystal pony updated to G4 style.
I wonder if that person is flipping out right now.
If the show really uses the idea that they've been living underground for generations, the idea of reminding them of their history (on the surface) makes sense.
I'm eager to see how they'll tackle this.

I don't give a buck about how 'hardcore' people say the villains where in G1. It was the 80s, and the 80's sucked for cartoons, the bar for cartoon villains was set so low anyone who looked vaguely scary and said the words "Curse you [insert random effeminate 80s hero here]" was considered a badass.

I would much rather get new creative villains then have any early generation clout holding the series back.

As far as the Crystal Ponies go, so long as they come up with something original, or borrow the concept and nothing else I'll be very cool with it.
