Okay, so this game is trash, and I'd say that why it's trash is relevant to GG and you all here.

Not really sure why it ties to GG but I noticed two things. First. It tries to imitate the charm of Earthbound/Mother without achieving such. And second is that the story is supposed to happen in the 90s, but for some reason they wear clothes that were fashionable between 2012 to 2016.
When i saw it released I hoped it would be a parody of modern society, but I don't know what to think.

It relates to GG because of its content. It's that pointless, meandering, hipster nothingness that the usual sorts usually eat up. However, if what my friend told me is true, even the usual shills thought this was poor. As he put it, it's not even hot garbage, it's just… lukewarm. Everything is weak, blathering, empty and mediocre. And they can't even make a ball roll.
And if I remember correctly, the creator of this game had the usual Twitter hissy fit and I believe he gamedropped GG, so there's that, too. I can't remember where I saw that, though.

Damn. It sounds awful. I did notice the game was poorly optimized and there are some things that feel off in it.
[Begin sarcasm here] Pack it up! Some one raised over 300k for a transgender movement and the Guardian Declaired it a victory over gamergate.
(KiA link)
We're free!
[End sarcasm]
No wait, scratch that. The article has been relabled as a blow against toxic masculinity. And the charity in question has been known to be very… Contraversial. (For alack of a better word)
Also something about Pewdiepie.
Looks like Gamergate still marches on, and this time it's distinct from Toxic Masculinity.

If he were to gamedrop GG, it won't really win them any points regardless because of this:

Also on some more GG related news, that HBomberguy had a stream and one site writes how its victory against GamerGate. Another Twitter user however believes this is "GamerGate with glitter".
https://twitter.com/FourEcchiTasty/status/1087725860692611073
Don't know how much Graham Lineham made people mad recently but I do remember him being anti-GG a few years back. What mental gymnastics you gotta make to think a trans charity stream must be pro-GG when others would say GG is against trans people and the like. Oh well, may as well get more popcorn this may as well be something to watch.
Ok so now Gamergate is somehow responsible for the Covington Cathlolic incident due to… No evidence what so ever and now GAMERGATE IS EVERYWHERE
I thought it was [sarcasm] dead/alive/not toxic masculinity/ the patriarchy/toxic masculinity/ againt women in gaming/ against women/ againsy game developers/ against only one (of three) specific female game developers/ an isis of hitlers/ a bunch of Trump dupporting berniebros/ a cabal of incels/ anything but ethics in game journalism.[end sarcasm]
And now it's everywhere according to the Verge.
The Ringer has a few choice words about the advice given to the mass layoffs at several new companies that realized theres more profit to be made in reporting than shoehorning opinions.
Sites that decried that Gamergate was clearly the cause of everything bad.
So yeah, ethics is actively coming to journalism. Not because it's right, but because it actually makes money.
In some relation to GamerGate:
Mercedes Carrera, a pornographic actress who showed support of GamerGate, has been arrested on charges related to child abuse. She pleaded not guilty.
https://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny-news-porn-actress-and-male-producer-plead-not-guilty-charges-child-sex-abuse-20190206-story.html
So FemFreq published their 2018 report. And it looks like they blew through most of their budget with little to no funding remaining.
This may forecast a revival of the gamergate hashtag/substitute nicknames in an attempt to generate more investments for Femfreq's cause.
Goobergrape, glittergootch, gaberguize… All sorts of GG terms have also been cropping up lately in social media to talk about gamergate in an attempt to mask a direct search of the term or for the lulz.

Let's get'em!
Looks like KotakuInAction is in hot waters again.
Mods changed the rules that nobody literally asks
The people's response to it
It's pretty much david_me removing KIA, but this time it's mods
OAG reports that a French Game Journalists, that were very anti-gamergate, were part of a harassment group. That actively participated in the harassment they claimed to be against, including denying job positions at their place of work on the basis of gender identity/sexual preference/ race.
So it's only a matter of time before there's cries of #Anti-gamergate is #gamergate, for actively practicing the malice that #gamergate is claimed to stand for.
I think this needs to be discussed in here:
Russ Pitts made an article in The Escapist about how to talk about ethics in gaming journalism
However, the article was taken down, and the escapist made an apology saying the article is not the right thing to publish.
Found all this info in this video.
I'm actually scared that a lot of evidence of older happenings get deleted and many who try to explain how GamerGate started, mention only the beginning (five guys) and doesn't mention the things that made it such a big issue (mass censorship, intimidation, blaming gamers, blatant outright lies, doxxing etc.)
r/KotakuInAction: [Meta] I'm sorry mods but you are just making it worse
And of course one of the mods named pinkerbelle is making an ass out of himself

@Evilthing
MSM has been doing this for years tbh
Taking out of context, only focus on one side, they're basically re-writing history
I'm so fucking tired of this shit and the SociJus

I really don't like engaging in tribalism, but I swear god sometimes I get the feeling the only way to handle SJWs is through ostracism. You can't be nice to them because they will bring others like them to sabotage or subvert your projects. As a novelist that is scary. One day I could see my work ruined by such people.
Regarding the rewriting of history… Let's just say it goes deeper than you imagine and I could get in trouble for explaining it, but generally they always leave holes from which one can put together the puzzle.
Let us not forget they have tried to make it seem as if pre modern Great Britain had a majority African population.

It really is the only way to deal with them. They infect everything they touch and the contagion must be kept out. I know that I will definitely be taking that into consideration when it comes to who I work with. If I can't trust them, I can't have them.
And yeah, they'll rewrite history that happened a week ago. They change their story on something they've pushed day and night for years the second they get proven wrong and their followers just eat it right up.

It pains me to admit you are right.
They arrive with ill intent to begin with, and will rewrite history to paint them as heroes the moment they are allowed to.
Oh, if one sees all the facts hidden in plain sight only to conform to their narrative. If only one saw how they invade and subvert groups. An example of that would be the injustice enacted upon Vic Mignogna. A successful artist since the 80's now is declared persona non grata because two rags, Anime News Network and Anime Feminist decided to go after him because he's a moderate religious conservative.
A man who brought smiles to many is just ruined by two "news outlets" that are antithetical to anime itself.
Never, under any circumstance, will I risk hiring a feminist, or any other sort of -ist for that matter, lest their activism compromises the integrity of my projects.
After all these years, about four or five if I remember well, I would rather not let them subvert and violate my work. Once I wished to make a video game, back in 2014. Then I decided to make the story into a novel since it was all I had to work on. And now I am working in three separate IP's. All because of #GamerGate, and I am not letting them ruin that.
Ironic. Since I felt at loss of hope because they subverted my hobbies I decided to push my skill into making what I wanted.
If they did what i do, they would probably not end up all ruined, unemployed, or with actual valid legal cases against them so often. They would be creating all those stories they try to turn other people's work into, and let the market decide.
Forgot to put this here
Zoe Quinn did an oopsie recently because Gamergate
Edit: I find it funny that people are telling pro-Gamergaters to leave her alone yet Zoe still does Gamergate related controversies
Like cmon, we will shut up about Gamergate if Zoe is going to shut up about Gamergate, but she declined that offer anyways.

She tries to insert herself into relevance so often it is bothersome.
In fact I don't think there's still a relevant GamerGate figure, pro or against. Sargon? Went out of relevance in 2016. Mundane Matt? He calls himself patient zero of GamerGate but blew up big time after he created some dumb ass drama. Internet Aristocrat? He changed his name and spin. Veeh? Well. He's still around but he was never that relevant. Total Biscuit? Sadly he passed away.

The only figure that may as well be relevant are those that won't stop about it. I hear rumors of Sargon wanting a GG 2.0 and Zoe Quinn going on with this dead horse. The only others that may as well have some relevancy could be those on Twitter that had some name to it but still won't let go of it or at least not walk past the mention of GG without making some sort of hot take from either side..

Yeah. i don't even like talking about Sargon anymore. He went full retard when Gab banned loli and he began to say "Loli equals pedophilia" ironic since he reached a reasonable middle ground with Amos Yee (Who is totally crazy) prior regarding that and admitting liking teenagers was not pedophilia.
He expresses lots of double standards and especially when it comes to him trying to gain attention to enter politics. He will say one thing and then the opposite only to save face and become a politician.
Of the people related to GG I still care about would be Appabend, Raging Golden Eagle, Tim Pool, and maybe Styxhexenhammer. At least the ones I can remember.
Sargon and Matt did some really foolish or unsavory things last year, and Matt even targeted people he used to be in good terms with out of spite.
That disappointed me, but fortunately for me this whole issue is not about celebrities. Unlike the aggros who need celebrity and public figure backing, we never needed it, unless we count Hulk Hogan.
Question: How many news outlets that have labelled gamergate as "harassment campaign" have proven their point by tracing their claims to the primary source.
Currently their most cited primary sources lead to Portal Celebrinando (yellow journalism article) or self-made death threat claims.
@Evilthing
I remember that the FBI investigated for 2 years and found literally nothing that Gamergate is some harassment campaign
Apparently journalists are blaming Gamergate because of the Captain Marvel backlash

Because surely all that don't like another cape movie must be incels. Not gonna deny that you can have those that will sperg hard against the film because it has a woman but one has to admit: the actress made a tweet that didn't sit well with people and you got others (such as myself) that end up getting tired of hearing more cape movies.
Then again with blaming GamerGate, it's more or less a way to make clickbait money since God knows long.

You know taking all of these accusations at face value, Gamergate is the most impressive phenomena to ever happen. For the past 5 Years in a Row, a group of people have not only survived social media nuke after nuke, but have managed to continue to hamper all of the entertainment industry, over and over again. It's a flattering view to think a bunch of twitter shitposters have the power to be immortal-through-controvery.
Imagine if video game journalists and associated game developers would be given 2 choices. Either…
1. Gamergate becomes exactly as bad as they claim to be, harassing women, sending actual and serious death threats and driving minorities out from gaming industry but in return the journalists get cleared of all the accusations on foul play and they can break the ethics in journalism as much as they want.
Or
2. Gamergate becomes only about uncovering and covering bad journalism and other dubious practices in media but and every piece of their criticism is legitimate. Nobody gets harassed. In return, journalists and game developers/publishers have to answer to all the ethical breaches they are found guilty of before being allowed to publish next article or make the next game.
How many of them would choose option 1 and how many of them would choose option 2?

GamerGate may as well be its own special thing of internet drama and controversy that it may as well transcend everything else within this decade in terms of internet drama.
To Evilthing"
Answer is obvious: they'd mostly go on choice 1. Even then, that question was already answered ages ago.
Brianna Wu is still going on about Gamergate and tries to blame it for the Christchurch shooting.
Sanakan_ht wrote:
Some people can't let go of a boogeyman. And with the recent shooting, they have a good reason to keep bringing it out despite the only connection being nominal (both the shooter and GG being on 8Chan).
Then again, based from post on a New Zealand fruit farm I lurk around, the author of the article is more or less someone that keeps using GamerGate in her articles to generate more clicks and the like.

Not staged, but it smells like a false flag. He mentioned everything that could be tied to the opponents of certain political ideologies held by a loud minority.
The guy might have been paid by someone important in the US since his manifesto had mentions of the US.
It is all too suspicious.

That's what I meant. I apologise. Not staged, more like influenced by people with even darker motives.
It was clearly planned and that plan was clearly outlined in their manifesto. Their goal was to drive in a deeper wedge and fule the culture war. To cause confusion and devision by baiting every idiot they can. It's just like that idiot in the truck with all the stickers on it. Whether or not they really were "sponsored" like that guy was remains to be seen, even though it's got similar earmarks.
It's expected that people are grandstanding and pushing their asinine ideas as to what should be blamed. Brianna Wu is acting no different than she was years ago. I think her approach is transparently political and not actually a matter of safety or eliminating harassment. She might also be motivated due to her lack of popularity.

What would you expect? People from both sides still take this seriously such as some people thinking the New Zealand shooting somehow has a connection to GamerGate. Some can just come here to observe what's going on.

I am certain you have seen the attempts at censoring dissent and the ideological bias in many places.
This is a valid controversy, just as it was a valid one when the Inquisition engaged in book burnings and witch trial.s
Princeton's Krueger, Ex-Economic Aide to Obama, Dies at 58
Princeton University economist Alan Krueger, who served as chairman of President Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers and was one of the profession’s top experts on the labor market, has died. He was 58.
The New Jersey school announced his death on its website Monday. His family later issued a statement saying that Krueger took his own life.
Krueger sat on the board of the MacArthur Foundation (p.51) which was the subject of an investigative report by Lane Davis (Seattle4Truth) and Milo Yiannopoulos because the foundation was found to be involved in Gamergate. He really can't let go of it, not when he can just simply milk some of those sweet likes and retweets. But wasn't Pizzagate some sort of pedo conspiracy? How would that even tie to the nerdy stuff of Gamergate and Comicsgate beyond the gate suffix?
He probably thinks it's anti-diversity and is tied to alt-right people and stuff, and the other groups are perceived the same way. There's probably also something with conflating things, maybe just because they believe they'll understand things better.
