You might be familiar with some of the other things I've done. This one is going to be a bit different.

Anyone who signs up will be PMed every now and then (no more often than once every two weeks) with a link to an anonymous, short questionnaire. It'll have two sections in it. One will be a group of fun, changing questions – things like "favorite pizza topping", "favorite meme", "music genres you listen to", that kind of stuff. The other group will be a set of "core" questions which are present in every single poll, so that we can know if something goes wrong and people dislike something more, or if we're doing something right. There'll also be an open answer section, where if you have any specific gripes or praises you can tell us anonymously.

Again, the surveys won't be long, you won't be spammed with PMs, and it'll be entirely anonymous. Unless you choose to say who you are in an open answer question, I'll never know, and neither will anyone else. If you signed up and want to stop receiving the PMs, just say so in this thread or in a PM to me.

Here's the one catch, though: for this to work, I need people to respond. No less than 15 people can be responding to any survey I send out, or it's just not worth the trouble.

To sign up, either post in this thread or PM me saying you want to be part of this.

I will compile a list of users who sign up for it. Depending on how many sign up, I'll either PM them all at once, or in waves. There will be a cut-off time for answering the survey, so that the responses are limited to a certain timeframe. The cut-off time will be something like a week. The questions for the "core" set of questions will be based off of the MKGA survey's questions, and will be required to answer. The other questions will be things that either go with the trends (like about a new meme), or are generally fun (like favorite animal), and are optional.

After the survey closes, if at least 15 people responded, I'll turn the results into some easy to understand and interesting numbers and post them in this thread.

A few times concerns were brought up over the multiple things I've done involving gathering information from KYM and its users. So, here are my guarantees.

What It Says On The Box: What I say is what will be done. The information provided for the birthday list goes on the birthday list, and I won't put it anywhere else. Of course, I can't guarantee that everyone else will do the same. Remember, you are making the information public.

Others Above Myself: I will never use any data I collect to benefit myself at the expense of others. For example, I will not use the data to shame, dox, embarrass, or otherwise hurt others in such a manner.

Individual Privacy Is Important: In some cases, it's obvious that the information you provide will be made public (e.g. the Birthday List). In other cases, however, I will strive to make sure that the information is anonymous. Should you make it clear who you are regardless, public releases will have it censored slightly.

Here's a link to a series of charts showing the trends. It should always be up to date.

Happy to be a part of this.

What I'm most concerned about is site improvement. Pizza toppings and that kind of data can be fun, but honestly if there's something I can do to help, no, we as a community, can do to help, then this is a very good concept.

Feedback is so important. Both on the admin level and for the moderator scale. We have to air our voices and opinions, and thank goodness it's not in the form of another chaotic drama thread.

I don't know how upper management goes, but I really do hope that common opinion can help shift agendas and make changes here where appropriate and necessary. If we don't like a site update and change, it should be put out there and the data collected.

The list of people who have signed up has now passed 30 users, which reached my goal! 50 is the upper limit for how many users I want. If by some coincidence we pass 50, I may enlist someone else to send out PMs. If this happens, the people who send the PM still won't know what you said. Again, nobody, not even me, will know who said what.

Everyone who signed up so far should have received a PM from me or Muffinlicious asking for them to take the survey. It will be open until at least (it may be a bit longer before it closes) October 15th. Please take it before then.

If you want to sign up and haven't yet, you can still receive the survey before it closes. The quicker you sign up, the more likely you are to receive it before it closes.
