If only there were a vocaloid-ish program for voice-overs…..

We could use microsoft sam as a narrator voice.

Age: Unknown, though appears young.
Race: Human, maybe
Bio: Kate is a strange and mysterious girl whose origins and past remain much of a mystery, even somewhat to herself. She doesn't know how long she's lived, or some of what she's done, or her purpose in life, though she is immortal. Bluntly professional, she always seems to be deep in thought about her history being used for a corporation from another universe that attempted to take over the world, and rebelling against it. She employs her mind and her ability to make weapons out of anything, including ledgers, computer mice, and her favorite, pens. She got involved in the internet because of her fierce loyalty to KYM. With the aid of the userbase, she creates KYM-tan to aid in the battle vs. ED and the censorship guys.

@Death the Kid: Back when Derpy was Len we would have used Vocaloid Len, but there is the problem that Half of the Vocaloids Can't Speak English. And even if we could get some Engrish out of them, setting their tone of voices will be hard compared to getting them to sing.

I have begun spriteing my character, but since I wasn't able to find anything to copy off of I am starting from scratch, so it will take awhile.
And Summer semester has just started for me, so I probably won't be on Meetingwords or IRC during the weekdays for the next 8 weeks.
I'm also thinking about livestreaming whenever I am working on programming the RPG, but we will see.

I'm kinda new here, but no one has volunteered to be the villain, so I'll do it
First off let me say the party should fight against total control (censorship) and total trolling (represented by anonymous).

Name: (normal form) Charles sveringen
Bio: as villain, he is seen shadowed throughout the game. Unbeknownst to the player, he "helps" them through the first part of the game. (he later causes the player to lose several characters by causing an argument). He is driven to shut down the world of KYM and reboot it his way. He was created by the government in order to censor the world of KYM because of the amount of corruption there is.(I think the world of KYM should represent the Internet as a whole). He creates various puzzles our heroes must solve in order to get into secure parts of the game (these would be like security gates, leading into forts/ compounds/ castles containg bosses).
Appearance: he appears as a tall, suave, classic anime character with grey hair. He has slight fangs. He wears a long black trenchcoat, small round sunglasses which he wears low enough on his nose to see his eyes over. He Also carries a cane.

Name: virus A75sJ4d
Bio: created to destroy KYM and all users in it. Once the party gets halfway through the game they enter a castle and must face him. He transforms into a half form (somewhere between his standard and true) and reveals his backstory, they fight, and he falls relatively easily. He then transforms into his true form, and they must beat him again. The heroes think that their fight is over, but then ge swarmed by trolls. Half way through the fight, there is a digital matrix formin in a75sj4d's chair. He reboots, this time in standard form w/o fangs, with blonde hair, and a white trench coat. He then helps take care of the trolls and joins the party. He reveals tha he was a normal moderator at one point, and the government told him they could give him more power online. What they did not tell him is that they were going to do It by infecting him with a virus, which he was infected with until he was defeated. He also revealed that by being defeated, all his enforcers (low level enemies who acted for him) were taken offline allowing the trolls to take control of KYM.

appearance: a black flame taking the form of a person. Glowing green eyes. Able to assume any form.

By that first comment, do you mean that this game will include new users as well as long as they stick around and post frequently with non-spam or trolling? If so, that is a very great way to welcome new users to KYM. Even if you were just making an exception for him, that is a good morale booster for new users to see that even in important matters they won't be ignored entirely if they work hard.

The final boss is Censorship. It's already been decided. Because it IS the Internet's ultimate enemy.

@Ardent Gamer: I will report whenever we have done something that seems important. However, updates will come more regularly after I have started programing; as I can upload my progress in a EXE file.

How do y'all feel about meme cameos (not flooding it with Memes, but one here and there).
Such as a character yelling LEEROY JENKINS!!!!! Before rushing into battle, or a weapon with the description: this kills the crab?

We are aiming to put as many memes in this game as possible. Mainly as NPC's, Summons, enemys, or Level Bosses. I came up with a forumla for meme bosses/npc's somewhere… AH! copypaste

"Comeing up with some guidlines for what fictional characters can make it into the RPG.:
a) Characters must be a part of a meme or closely related to it.
b) The more memes the character is associated with, the later in the game you fight them.
-For example: Seto Kaiba has two memes associated to him (Abridged Seires and Enemy Controller), thus you wouled fight him before Link, who has many memes (CDI, Exuuuuuuse Me Princess, Newfags Can’t Triforce, Its Dagerous to go alone, Hey Listen, Ect) accociated with him.
-This Rule is Exempt from obvioius memes that are obvious, then we shall judge them by the power they seem to have and/or their popularity. (Vegeta, Old Spice Man, Leroy Jenkins, Sad Keanu, ect, fall under this catigory.)
-“Appeared in Youtube Poop” meme only applies to the CDI, Super Mario Super Show, I.M. Meen, Dr.Rabbit, and Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon characers. (otherwise any person couled be a meme.)
c) The "Rival" in this game will either be a KYM user team or somebody like Garry MotherEFFing Oak.
d) NPC memes have no limit as long as they apply to rule number one, but their importance depends on the role they play online. (Advice Dog being a Tutorial person, Morushu being a Overpriced Shopkeeper, ect)"
e) Playable Characters may have a few summons exempt from rule number 1.

I have an idea, how about when the party meets a party member when they join, we can have a special theme play out for them.

Like for example, when the party meets Kalmo, this song could play:

I think giving each main character a leitmotif would be a good idea. I wonder though how difficult it would be to actually do so.

My leitmotif would be a fast, hyper, guitar just teetering away along a rolling drum- kinda like the opening to Green Day's "Panic song"
