Really? I thought I was doing a poor job so far as history goes. The fall of Rome and the dark ages are my least favorite time periods. In any case, history will not go very nicely according to IRL in Europe and West Asia, mostly because the formation of Rome was screwed by Megarch.

Also,

If I were to make an alliance with a players nation, would I contact the player?

No, military alliances are forged without your permission and you are obliged to assist when they need help. /sarcasm

Yeah that sounds about right.

Consider this: all NPCs are played by me, so in order to forge an alliance with an NPC you must ask ME through PM. How would you go about forming an alliance with somebody that is NOT me?

Also what happened to Megarch? Has lolzors actually been eliminated from the game?

He didn't send anything to me for a while, and then the Remans and Gauls busted up his capital.
So yeah.

Good thing I don't live where Koala's are
They started the plague right?

Alright, I have to ask:

You said the next turns would be 250 years. The Hunnic Empire lasted from 360ish to 460ish to my knowledge, which encompasses one predicted turn. How is the rise and fall of the Huns in one swoop going to affect us?

I may take some liberties with the length of time they stuck around just so they can actually be on the map. As for how it affects you, well, if you are anywhere near them you won't fare well. The time that passes each turn is decreasing so that such empires won't rise and fall in one turn.

Had all of you been in a smaller location at game start like, say, Europe, I could have cut down the amount of time that passed each turn earlier, but as it stands to pass time by 50 years per turn this early would get us nowhere; half of you are the only organized state in your region. That would get boring quickly.

Actually no, I just missed Buddhism being brown. The world would probably be pretty peaceful if we were all Buddhist though.

Ah Damn, I knew Syndic would do this. I've been getting it easy for a quite while so it was only a matter of time before I get a 'playmate'

The mixture is also developed independently in China by monks seeking an elixir for immortality, and they too waste little time weaponizing the miraculous powder.

-China refuses Syserror's diplomats due to their isolationist attitudes, and the Malayan states are too involved in piracy to care about a few insubordinate nobles.
-Larger vessels are constructed, and trade contact with the Incans is made. The Galapagos becomes a major trade outpost. Socorro is also settled, and irregular trade opens with the Neonords and Aztecs.

-The Muslim Caliphate does not make it far into Neopian territory before they collapse into a succession crisis. However, they have left behind the rather powerful Islamic state of Cordoba in their wake.
-Islam is still spreading into Europe, despite the lack of a unified Caliphate. This may have a lot to do with the decentralized nature of Celtic Paganism making it too easy for monotheists to convince the locals of the truth in their unified scripture.
-Attepts to ally with Prederia are met with silence, because Prederia is not an NPC. Yet.

Here's a couple of notes:
I have decided that the next six turns will be in sets of 125 years, up to 1750. The industrial revolution will start the next turn after that, during which you will begin to research Victorian technologies with state funded projects. I will stop recording the Christian calendar year per turn after then too, since the world will be fully out of synch with the original timeline, and technological developments will thereafter depend upon what you want to develop, rather than history and random chance.
.
Furthermore, Mongolia will be the last "instant empire" that makes an appearance on the map. I posted a picture of our glorious leader a little ways up there. His empire will show up on turn 11, and collapse into independent khanates on turn 12. After that, you can probably focus on expanding into Asia without encountering anything extremely dangerous.

-Canals are widened and/or built anew in major cities as part of a grand sewage system.
-A public schooling initiative starts up, funded by the nation's elite. Non-slave, non-peasant children ages eight to ten find themselves forcibly enrolled in basic education. This endeavor does wonders for the national economy, and more people are selecting intellectual or financial pursuits as careers.
-An attempt to move a fleet through Byzantine waters is initially rebuffed, until news of the nation's conversion reaches Constantinople. "Our christian brothers" are allowed to march and sail straight through the city.
-Crete and Cyprus are seized.

-Gunpowder weapons have become a common necessity of war. Castles and forts, on the other hand, are almost entirely abandoned as canons make them too easy to destroy.
-The war starts to turn in Molossia's favor after the assassination of several key political and military leaders. Falconi bodyguards become larger and better equipped; such a scheme is not likely to work again.
-The Incans and Amazons refuse to send aid, being that they are still recovering from the Aztec invasions of their own countries.

-Sailors sent towards South America are never heard from again. They might have been murdered by the Aztecs, or Amazoni pirates.
-A military expedition is sent into Scotland. it fails to find any weaknesses or opportunities, so the conquistadors in question move to Hibernia and seize the capital there, with total and complete disregard for local authorities.
-A judicial system, already in place for centuries, is augmented with more judges.
-Stickball sports are developed, including the glorious hockey. The hockey becomes so glorious that some people think it should be prime minister, but the hockey is too modest for that kind of attention.

Cattonian Empire

-Royal ties with Harappa have led to a personal union. The Cattonian monarchy now controls both nations.
-The combined manpower of Cattonia and Harappa is astronomical. With the mighty financial industries of both nations combined, an army possibly numbering in the millions is armed and armored with iron weapons, and furnished with cavalry and the greatest military minds of both kingdoms.
-With their unified fighting force organized, Cattonia sends its armies westward, and conquers the whole of Palmyra's empire in a single campaign.
-Enraged with the Dravidian conquest of ancient holy Christian cities and sacred lands, Persia, Armenia, and Byzantium declare war.
-An outbreak of malaria, combined with an attack by Malayan pirates, wipes out the Madagascar colonies. The surrounding islands, however, are more hospitable.

-War is made upon the Aztecs. They, being captured by surprise, are forced to flee southwards.
-Neonordic merchants start to make great explorations of the Pacific, aided in part by Syserrene knowledge of the islands.
-Syserrene merchants are funded heavily, and a healthy string of trade routes across the ocean are developed.
-The Aztecs offer to surrender all territory north of the 40th parallel as arrangements for a peace treaty.

Neopia

-War is made with Cordoba. The enemy enlists the aid of the local Muslim population, who are more than supportive of the occupation.
-Attempts are made to persecute the Muslims in southern Francia. They only have marginal success; invading Iberians have made the struggle a difficult one to overcome.
-Attempts to trade with the Goths is met with hostility. They refuse Neopian merchants to their markets and ports so long as they remain on a crusade against Cordoba.
-Naval exploration is stunted by the war with Cordoba.
-The terrain separating the emirate from Neopia – oceans and mountains – has made combat slow, dangerous, and extremely costly. There are massive death tolls on both sides.
-A parliament is established to separate the king from a majority of his power. This makes the war difficult to manage, as now all decisions must pass through more than one man and the complete restructuring of government in the middle of a major conflict does no favors for the nation either.

Greetings, nations of the world! As a new power, I'm trying to establish myself. I'm offering trade agreements with Neopia, Prederia, the Cattonian Empire, Angmar (via Poland if we can get that working) and anybody else in Europe that I may have forgot.

Well I hope that we can get something working there. As for the rest of you, I'd really like to open a Mediterranean-wide exchange with everyone.

Yes i would like to set up a trade system with you and may Britannia bless your quest to rise to become powerful.

I'm up for trading with both Sweden and Syserror. But holy fucking shit. I swept that region.

EDIT: @BSoD
I really need your naval knowledge and gunpowder, so trading this turn is a big deal.

-Gifts are sent to the Chinese to encourage them to open up their borders again. They are not impressed.

Dammit, why are the Chinese such freaking tight-asses? The strongest, richest power in the pacific wants to give you delicious cake! OPEN YOUR DAMN PORTS!

@Madcat

I've opened my ports to you already since some nations [cough]china[cough] don't understand the importance of international trade relations so trade away. Help me secure the Indonesian trade routes and we should have a strong fuel line between us.

I could use some of your advanced tech, I'm also trying to reduce my dependence on fishing. send me imperial age weaponry and livestock. I can give you my ship tech.

My gunpower comes from the Inca's, I don't produce it myself. Not sure how much of it I can trade at this point.

Fantastic. Hopefully, we can set up a trade round through Syserror to Europe to propagate technology.

Political Map
Religion Map
The World at Large
-The Mongols, under the leadership of Genghis Khan, utilize advanced mobility tactics and gunpowder weapons to conquer most of Asia and Europe.
-Christianity is adopted by the Great Khan, who spreads the faith by funding missionaries to all corners of his empire.
-The Black Plague, indigenous to Yunnan in China, is exposed to the rest of the world by Mongol conquests. China, central Asia, and Western India are already stricken with the terrible disease.

Nationitia

-An alliance with Gothica is formed.
-Nationitians slowly move onto Gothic land. Gothica responds: "What are you doing. Stop that." and terminates the alliance.
-Few other people are willing to trust the Nationitians, so no more alliance proposals are successful. At the same time, nobody really wants to invade either due to preoccupation with the Mongols.
-Trade with neighboring nations goes very well. Nationitia's ancient stockpiles of wealth permit her to purchase great merchant fleets, and her position in the middle of the Mediterranean is a significant boon as well.

Syserror
Blue Screen (of death)
Lifestyle: Seafaring Traders
Gov't: Theocratic Constitutional Republic
-Increased naval patrols in Indonesia results in increased opportunities for corruption.
-Mongol invasions of Indochina results in a sharp decline in Malayan piracy. The trade lanes are mostly open for now.
-The fleet is expanded, with scores of ancient trees felled to provide for it. The cleared land is thereafter used as farmland.
-A mandatory public schooling initiative is attempted, and fails. The poor do not have enough money to afford schooling, nor would they have any use for an education if they did. The wealthy appreciate the concern, but their children already go to school without it being demanded of them.
-The nobility in defecting regions are disposed of, and replaced with elected governors. This sets a national trend, and the aristocracy rapidly loses power to the bureaucracy.

-Peace is made with the Aztecs, whom are warned against ever transgressing upon Crimson lands again.
-The Aztec Empire is humbled by their defeat, and the high priests officially put an end to the global crusade.
-Most of Crimsonia's forces are now concentrated upon Shawnee, who are crippled in the effort of defense. However, Shawnee borders are respected and never crossed during the confrontation.

Prederia

-Fasier officially opens its borders to foreigners. This made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. Nonetheless, it prompts a sudden trade revival, and massive sums of cash flow into Fasier.
-Nagasaki quickly grows to become the nation's largest city, eclipsing the size of the next three largest added together.
-Daimyos start to recruit explorers to spread Fasien influence to new islands. Taiwan, falling out of the grasp of Chinese control, is seized.

Angmar

-The whole of Angmar is sacked by the Mongols, with the singular exception of Crimea. It seems that the Angmen who fled there during the Hunnic invasions developed a series of innovations for building in the coastal lagoons, in much the same way that the Venetians did. The Mongols find these cities nearly impossible to breach with their tactics, and they leave the peninsula for greener, more easily conquered pastures.
-Following the sack of Angmar, thousands of Angmen flee to the major lagoon cities in Crimea, leading to a significant population and infrastructure growth of this region.
-All of the surrounding nations have had their military and industry wrecked by invaders, but Angmar remains relatively unscathed in her most populous region. The Angman princes agree that now would be an excellent time to take advantage of Angmar's neighbors, before they can rebuild.
-Mongol armies retreat eastward after the challenge of Dravidia lures them into invading Cattonia in full force. They leave behind various gunpowder weapons and industries, and Angmar adopts these things into her military.

Molossia

-The Falconi capital is captured, and the nation capitulates. Among the things looted are gunpowder weapon industries, which are incorporated fully into the nation's military
-The theocracy gradually loses its power until only the king holds sway over the nation's laws.

-The government in Ireland is massacred by Crusaders, who overwhelm the local garrison there.
-A naval invasion force attempts to assault London. They are warded off by Prederia's superior numbers, both on the sea and on land. A minor skirmish ensues regardless, and the fleet is forced to land in Galicia.
-Cordoba is extremely suspicious of the massive contingent of unknown strangers on their shores.

Cattonian Empire

-The Mongols invade recently conquered Persia. The allure of Dravidia's wealth and the challenge of her mighty armies draws the Great Khan's attention, leading to a rather weak control over Europe. it has also led to their invasion of Indochina, so that Dravidia may be surrounded on all sides by the Mongol horde.
-Byzantine armies make significant advances into west Asia while Cattonia's armies are distracted by the Mongols.
-Mongol soldiers on the eastern front are stricken with a terrible plague, and are dropping like flies. The plague soon spreads to conquered provinces, and even ahead of their armies. Entire cities are dying out.
-Incan gunpowder weapons, imported at outrageous costs from Syserror, prove to be significantly more colorful and exotic than Mongol weapons.
-War elephants toting hundreds of small artillery rockets, small cannons, and arabesques are fielded for battle. Expensive and impractical, but completely devastating to enemy morale.

Neonorth
Penz0id
Lifestyle: Patrician Elitism
Gov't: Constitutional Monarchy
-The royal family gives a portion of its power away to an elected parliament. With a new judicial system in place, an organized labor force of prisoner slaves is put to work.
-The Aztec treaty is refused. With troops released from the Crimsonian front, they manage to push into NeoNordic lands.
-Aztec soldiers are utilizing cannons more frequently. Neonordic strongholds are not capable of withstanding the attack, and the fortified zones in Mexico fall.
-With Aztecs moving closer to the most densely populated regions of the empire and the war having lasted so long, many nobles are protesting that the war should be brought to an immediate end.
-Gunpowder is experimented with, and some forms of cannons are imported from Syserror. However, they are far from becoming standard siege equipment.
-Pan-American trade routes expand to stretch from coast to coast.
-Another Aztec treaty reaches Vancouver. This time, they propose that each side simply annex the lands they presently occupy.

Neopia

Lifestyle: Chaos
Gov't: Anarchy
-Peace is established with the Emirate.
-The monarch is dissolved… in a vat of acid. Jesus Christ.
-With no monarch, the feudal system collapses, and Neopia is thrown into chaos. Mass executions occur as various noblemen strive for the throne, and eventually the plebeians have had their fill of the nobility. Commoners raid manor houses, and the aristocracy is slaughtered. Those who survive only do so by virtue of being on vacation.
-With the people now in charge of business, the nation officially converts to Islam.
-Cape Verde is colonized.

Medicea

-The nobility is removed via executions and banishment. This results very quickly in a civil war, pitching the noble loyalists against the king's revolutionaries.
-The Mongols invade, and the fractionated nation is decimated. On the bright side, the king won his war, and a new totalitarian government is established with a single ruler controlling every single aspect of the nation. What's left of the nation, at any rate.
-The Monarch begins making personal visits around the nation so as to seem like a warmer leader and to rally more support from the people.
