MDF gave me permission to pick this back up again. If you do not know me, I am the first one to have done this game (to my knowledge) on this forum. It will update considerably faster than MDF's does; about once a day in the beginning. As with his thread, the first 15 players to sign up will get slots. Anybody after that will be put on reserve for dropouts. You will send private messages via this forum to me to dictate what your nation does.
.
To sign up, fill this out:

Nation Name: (don't be obscene)
Location: (Coordinates, general location, or the name of an IRL city)
Color: (RGB values or color name, not white, black, or grey)
.
The map I will use is Earth's. We will start at about 3k BC and progress rather rapidly towards the modern age. Unless you influence them, the other regions of the world will progress rather historically. I won't give you any hints because I want it to be open ended; as you play you will get the general idea of what works and what doesn't.

Once I have an appropriate number of players I will post a map and a first turn.

Considering the events that have occurred in the past RP's, I am really looking forward to this

Yeah, I'm sorry for what happened in the last one. The network I use decided to block KYM. (Some do-gooder on campus got us reported for porn…) I can still post on the site using my phone & do my forum moderator functions but if I want to make more complex posts using images and whatnot I need to do it via my laptop, which requires walking a good 15 minutes to the nearest starbucks. So, updating the last RP became kind of difficult.

Some guy apparently got offended by the image Chris posted to the Daily Dose entry. This campus actually blocks porn sites, and seeing as it is a pornographic image…
My campus is just really, really paranoid I guess.

.
Political Map
The World at Large
-Population explosions occur along the Nile, Indus, and Tigris rivers, resulting in the first centralized states.
-Anachronisms abound! Some places may develop culturally/technologically faster than IRL because you, the player, insisted that these regions were settled before they really were.
-The Neolithic revolution is sparked rather globally. Most cultures settled on fertile grounds have begun small farming initiatives. Many, however, remain dependent upon hunting and gathering, while others are still largely nomadic.
-Egypt, Indus, and Sumer have entered the Chalcolithic age, utilizing copper in basic tools.

So go ahead. You've missed very little.

Also, there is no format to sending turns to me. However, make sure to follow these rules:
-Include the next turn in the title. Your present PM should read "Nations RP turn 2"
-Do not write way too much
-If you must edit what you wrote, send a new PM with ALL of your actions in it including the edits. i will only read the latest PM from you

Also what are the rules for giving our civilizations commands?

No, turn 1 is over. The next PM you send should include the number two somewhere in it.

Commands should be logical. For instance, most of you lack a centralized nation state, so things like standing armies or written law can not be easily done. Your possibilities will expand as you either settle in a farm-favorable region and the population expands, or when you loot and adopt culture and tech from a civilization that already has.

Alright, I'm assuming the the command rules from the last game still apply as well. I.E: no more than 6 commands and technology upgrades require their logical pre-requisites

I'll rephrase my first sentence: Okay do we send in “Nations RP turn 2" now?

technology is much less important in this than I suppose you remember it being. I want you to focus on the geopolitical and cultural elements; technology will evolve alongside it, based partly around random chance. Besides, ancient peoples did not establish research projects anyway. you need the scientific method, which ancient people had no concept of, and a centralized state capable of funding it, which did not come about until a while after the roman empire fell.

-The Indus become dominated by the massive city of Harappa under a rather centralized state.

-A neighboring Ainu tribe is attacked by the shamanic forces. They abandon their nomadic lifestyle, and are eventually integrated into the Fasier people.
-Without metallurgy or a serious farming economy, the people of Fasier have no way or incentive to develop large farming equipment, including the plow.
-Wild foxes are captured, although domestication proves impossible and they are instead used as a supply of fur. The Ainu settle for the dog, a subspecies of the gray wolf, as their domestic companion of choice, which become popular.

-Contact with the eastern chariot riders has resulted in a much more mobile society. Eventually, a schism in Angmans develops between the nomads and the settlers. The nomadic portion adopt the Altaic language of the chariot riders.
-With the increasingly settled nature of the Angmans, they enter the neolithic age, and agriculture becomes more common for it.
.
Molossia
Captain Falcon

-Linguistic properties resembling bird-calls make their way into the Molossian people's speech. This makes conversation with local tribes more difficult, but the sparsity of population in the region makes this fact largely irrelevant.
-Small animal trapping becomes a popular economic endeavor. Trade of furs and veal for fruits and wood occurs between the Molossians and other southern Tupi tribes.
-During this time period, written language was developed. It is utilized primarily to record the people's donations to the local patron god, Farukon.
-The Tupi people become more settled in their land, following Mollossian examples.

If it is, then I give my thumbs-up to the OP, who originally came up with the idea. It’s nice to see something like that every now and then.

Also, I might like to join as a reserve player.

-One of the first monotheistic religions emerges whenthe legendary Farukon is mandated as not just a patron god, but the only god.

Have you looked at the map?
I would suggest starting somewhere in Europe (not along the Med) or south China.

While this system will stunt growth, it will also prevent the nation from experiencing collapse from the inside.

-Tenochtitlan bands together in an alliance with two other city states, forming the Aztec Empire. They rapidly expand to engulf all Nahuatl land, and conquer the Mayans as well.

Send my turn in.

Man, I'm still way behind. Everyone else is past the bronze age already

This has a lot to do with you being one of the few players with zero contact with other civilizations.
Also, the following four turns will be in chunks of 250 years.

So just a quick question, but to establish trade relations with a player-controlled nation, should you also be contacting the player in control of that nation, and possibly vice-versa? I just want to clear up the necessary procedures is all

Unless they are mercantalists or communists, there is nothing stopping you from trading with their people. As for military alliances between players, they will not be displayed on the map. It is up to you if you want to help somebody else.
