And it's finally happened. The fantrolls.

They lasted two pages. Which was one more than the guarantee.

Those two people who paid $10,000 dollars for their fantrolls to make an appearance are now crying in the corner.

The next tier up was a guarantee that the fantrolls would make it more than a page. They knew what they getting in to.

They didn't survive past their first page, though. He still kept his word, since neither of them payed the 100K.

I still think that surviving past page 1 would have just meant that they'd get killed on page 2…

I'm surprised how quickly the internet responds sometimes.

Within an hour of that update first going up, there was already high quality fanart – complete with weapon -of the female fantroll.

I'm sure they had foreknowledge of how things were gonna go down. You don't put that kind of investment into something without getting at least some involvement.

These are comments by Jedidiah Long, the creator of Nektan Whelan the fancy purple-blooded fantroll, on the Homestuck Kickstarter page. At the time of his donation, he was deployed in Afghanistan and Homestuck was one of the few things to brighten his day. He was more than happy to donate the money toward the game. He was fully aware that his fantroll would die, so no, he is most likely not disappointed in the least.

So did Hussie rip them off? No. In the end, the only opinions that matters towards the fate of those trolls are those of the creators.

Moreover, this update also solidifies that Vriska is definitely not a villain, which many seem to enjoy painting her as, but an anti-hero. One of the better ones I've seen in fiction, absolutely.
